I haven't been on the TG herringbone flights but MicroDUF has done 50 or so flights on other airlines with a similar layout. You can do this even with small children. The key is that you need one adult next to the child and the other adult opposite the child so he can look into the seat from across the aisle.
But the OP has 2 children to worry about. Also since its a night flight presumably they want to get some sleep. On the 77W layout, if the child wakes up in the middle of the night it cannot see anyone and will get a bad fright. It would be far better to take a different option to Europe IMHO.
