A+ boarding position

To the A list preferred folks:

What is the worst boarding my position you have ever received?

On a MDW-PHL flight on Monday I received A28 and noticed that the person in front of me was AL (not ALP). Shrugged it off and thought it might have been a glitch of some sort.

Just pulled my pass for return flight tomorrow and it's A32. Kind of surprised.

Since I've been ALP (for quite a while now), I can't remember ever getting anything over A23 or so.

Yup. Commuter flight, low fare.

I'm still wondering how A list folks got lower numbers than me.

Would it be because their MDW-PHL flight was the 2nd (or even 3rd) leg of their trip and yours was your 1st so they were checked in before you?

That's not how its supposed to work. Each flight should be sorted individually, with A List Preferred assigned lower positions than A List. What you've mentioned is only a factor in non-status T-24 check-in, and possibly BS.

I was going to start a thread about this but saw your post first. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. My buddy mentioned he got A31 last night when he usually gets A16-22. I said well that's no good because I always get 16-22 as well, and what do I see when I check in 30 min ago?

A31

I wonder if it's fallout from the little IT issue last weekend.

Same here. I usually am A16-A20. Today on a flight that was booked months ago I received A31. I suspect it's fallout from the IT meltdown and they are having to re-number not based on original booking data.

Everyone's getting A-31 (and one A-32)? Sounds structured

I'm thinking the same thing. As we were in line waiting to board today, I was talking to a few of the folks around me. All said the same thing, that they never receive anything above A25 at the worst as ALP. Yet we are all above A31.

What does "above" mean??? Why not use terms like "before" or "after"?

What does it matter? It's a commonly-accepted term in this forum, thus no need to change.
