Does anyone know what type of plane is used for SEA-SVO? Also, does anyone know how many hours this flight is?

Sorry for being sort of off-topic here in the DL forum but my curiosity is peaked.

Are these flights ALL coach??
If so, they’ll unfortunately be a welcome partner to DL.

Thumbs down

Last time I flew them, they had 3 classes of service on 777. It was SVO-JFK. 767 I think has 3 classes too.
Most times since then I flew DL#30 or AF.

Unfortunately, SU between US-Russia is one thing... SU within Russia is a nightmare. Bring some ear plugs!!!

Of course not! It ain't Song we are talking about here .

From http://www.aeroflot.ru/eng/service.asp?ob_no=779
As with most airlines, Aeroflot has three classes of service: first class, business class and economy class.

don't see their quality as good enough for ST

I flew SU in August on a flight from SVO-WAW. The Tupolev plane looked like it was built in the late 50s. Maybe it was a little newer than that, but it was certainly 30 years old. The unoccupied seats flopped forward when the plane landed, the wooden toilet seats badly needed paint, and the carpet was missing in places. I wasn't really concerned for safety, but one of my travelling companions questioned my judgment in booking the flight.

Maybe some long-haul/short-haul consistency is in order before they join ST?

Won't EU noise restrictions gradually chase the old Tupolev's from many international routes in the near future?

AFAIK SU does not operate any eastern built ( Tupolew / Iluyshin / Jakovlew ) aircraft to western europe or the US anymore. These can only be found on flights to eastern european countries or intra russian flights.

The Il-96 frequenty shows up in flights LHR-SVO, and the Tu-154 on various flights to western Germany and elsewhere. That SVO-MAD flight must be painful (in SU's defense, my flight on an A310 LHR-SVO earlier this year was just fine--the J seat was a bit hard and the food inedible, but the legroom was more than BA CE).

If they team up with delta they'll eventually be flying svo-usa in rj's. I'm sure delta is working on an extended range version.

I thought SkyTeam wanted Aeroflot to build a new terminal at SVO before they could enter SkyTeam?

They are building a new terminal, and it should be finished during their long Russian winter.
