Linking two separate PNRs on separate ST carriers - possible?
Hi - I am flying into AMS on KLM on one PNR, connecting on a China Eastern flight after a 4 hour connection. I know that AMS is good for connections, but when I check in for my KLM flight, will they through check me given they are both SkyTeam carriers? My online travel agent says not because they are separate PNRs, but might this happen at check in?

Maybe, maybe not. No risk to ask but be prepared for refusal. If you intend to check bags, schedule ample time between the 2 flights in case you have to claim bags in AMS and recheck.

You cannot link PNRs even when they are on the same carrier, let alone on two different ones.
You could ask for your bag to be checked through, but chances are low. You didn't tell us your origin airport, this might impact the probability. Also, be aware that you'll need to clear passport control in AMS twice to recheck the bags to your MU flight.

The format is: TCPx AB1234 where x is a number from 2 to 9, and AB1234 is the Record Locator for the other PNR. If only part of the itinerary is shared, city codes can be specified.
TCP3 = To Complete a Party of 3
Back when I was an airline reservation agent in the 1980s, this command was not used for the same passenger, but for other passengers sharing some or all of the itinerary.

Update for anyone who finds this thread in a search - it was not possible to link the two PNRs when I checked in at INV, but 4 and a half hours was more than enough to clear security and re-check-in at AMS.
Also, love the AMS non-Schengen KLM Crown lounge!

Thank you for having reported the outcome here !

Try asking the agents at Inverness, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
