Thanks for the advice and info, it appreciated.
I am used to renting from Hertz Ultimate Choice (PC aisle) I found a better deal with Sixt this time. |
When I was in Portland last weekend, I reserved the X5 car class. Upon arrival, the rep said she had a Mercedes for me. I asked about an X5 and she said she had the M60 but it was $27/more per day (normally $50). I really wanted to try the X5 so I went for it. When I stopped by the key pickup area, they said they were switching me to the regular X5 because they couldn't do the upgrade for $27. Management said it had to be $50 per day. I certainly wasn't about to pay $50 more per day for the same car (with the twin turbo V8). I liked the base X5 so much that I just purchased a 2026 X5e on Saturday. Moral of the story: always rent the standard Chevy Malibu. :)

I upgraded (for a lower price, although lost $100) from PFAR to LFAR, picking up from LAX in a few weels. Is it likely to be the X3? Had assumed X1 for PFAR but glad of the extra space for less money on the new booking. Had an X5 last year albeit that was a 'free' upgrade because the original car had a nail in the tyre and they didn't have anything else available in the same category.

Anybody know how to get a fleet list from SIXT? Like the exact models they currently have in inventory? I am looking to see if they have 760 anywhere near Southern California.

LAX has BMW 760i in their fleet. I was offered such vehicle when I asked for an upgrade from a 5-series reservation, and they wanted another $125/day (give or take). No thank you on that. It's not something that you can book online nor the app. It's something that is usually offered at the branch at an upcharge. Who knows? You might get lucky with a 760i with a 7-series reservation with no upcharge if they have one available.

Well this is funny, so I had that 760 from LAX and then it got defleeted and now I’m searching for one.

LAX
Is there anyway of contacting the LAX airport station directly? I picked up a GLE 350 yesterday but I'd like to check if there are any X5s (regular ones) for an exchange. I only see the general customer service number...
