Hi again!
Relatively new customers with Sixt, has only rented once in Mallorca and once in Cyprus. Both times we had excellent brand cars and even an free upgrade in Cyprus.
Happy with this the booked again a EDMR Renault Clio for Lanzarote for our 2 week Christmas, New Years holiday and in March for almost 4 weeks i Fort Lauderdale.
We have now experienced our first real disappointment with Sixt in Lanzarote Airport.
Sixt is working with the rental company Orlando, then i saw this om my booking i was a bit in doubt because we used them in Las Palmas and they were terrible.
Truly Lanzarote was the same and as i was hoping Sixt had some implementation of their standards then the work with another company i was sadly wrong.
This was actually worse than Las Palmas.
First our flight was over 9 hours late and as we arrived there was no sign of Orlando and not any "general meeting point" that Sixt refers to, Orlando has no kind of office in the airport, after searching the whole garage we asked at the info booth were a very nice guy helped us pointing out were Orlando hands over the cars and he also called them for us.
So far so good. We got our car, a complete wreck, a 2008 Toyota Yaris, I don't know if this is comparable to a Clio, sure did not feel so... It was totaly dirty and run down (sounded like it would fall apart any time.
The also used the fraudulent fuel policy 1/4 full.
In 2 weeks driving around the island we did not see another rental car that terrible. Posted some pictures in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/sixt/...ou-rented.html
My question is, Is this the standard You should expect from Sixt?
Best regards!

"Hi Berra67,
Thank you for your patience. I have been having some issues communicating with the partner in Lanzarote. I am now chasing a resolution to this via a different route and I will be contact with you again within 48 working hours.
If you require any further assistance in the meantime, please feel free to contact me again.
Many thanks,
Gary Caudwell. "

I did not get any further messages (but 30 from Sixt suddenly turned up in my account, guess its some kind of compensation) and my conclusion is.
Sixt is a good choice in Mallorca and Cyprus, however watch out if they use a "partner" somewhere, seems like even Sixt has problems dealing with them....
Now I will see how it works out in the US in March before i decide if i will stick to Sixt or go back to Avis and Hertz.
By the way i sent a question regarding another problem (missing bonus points) to the Swedish support of Sixt but did not hear a word back from them, does not give a good impression at all.....

Hi Berra67,
You are right. As stated in my private message we did have some trouble contacting the partner. Unfortunately, on some occasions we are unable to reach a conclusion as quickly as we would like.
As you rightly said, you have been credited 30 as requested by myself. The general process is that we request these refunds and are notified when this is actioned. However, as I had not received notification of this refund being completed, I took the assumption that it had not yet been authorised by the relevant department.
I cannot apologise enough for this oversight. By way of an apology, I would like to offer you an upgrade voucher for use on a future rental. Please send me a private message with the address you would like this to be sent to.
Many thanks, Gary Caudwell.
