A) Is the VCE counter open early morning as our flight departs at 7am.
B) Does Sixt status match?

Hello Hearna,
please could you e-mail me your reservation number for your rental in VCE as our office in Italy asked me for this information.

I already e-mailed you about the status match. :)

Many Thanks

Hello,

I will be traveling to London via Heathrow and I booked in category ILAR. According to the website, the possible vehicle is a BMW 1er. If that is the case, what is the chance of obtaining a 118i or a 120d (or what other vehicles could be offered).

Also, I will be traveling to Munich. I booked LDAR. What would be the chances of getting the BMW 535i?

Side Note: Does Sixt offer the BMW 550i?

Thanks,
Jim

Dear Jim,
I have contacted the Branch Manager for Munich and Heathrow for you.
Our office in Munich advised they have the following vehicles in the LDAR group: BMW 530d and Audi A6 3,0 TDI.

In the UK we have only the BMW 120d on fleet, which is the only vehicle in this group booked.

Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee make and model, however if you e-mail me your reservation numbers I will be happy to add notes on the system to say you would prefer the BMW.

My e-mail address is [email protected]

Unfortunately we do not have the BMW 550i on fleet.
Many Thanks
Sabine

Hello Gary, Sabine, and Per:

Many years ago I rented my first car from Sixt (CLK Cabriolet upgraded from a BMW 3-series booking in the middle of summer) and it was such a pleasant experience that I've never strayed since. Like many others here, I am pleased to see you all taking such a proactive approach to customer service here on Flyertalk.

Quick question:

I am about to book a PWMR for about two weeks from Frankfurt. I will be on a very frantic itinerary over the next few weeks and I'm not sure which airport I'll be flying out of, DUS, CGN, FRA, or MUC. What will happen if I book a car one-way from FRA-->MUC but last minute I instead return it to CGN? (I am Platinum in case it matters.)

Hello Jarjarbinks,

There should be no problem if change your the return location during your rental. I only would suggest that you contact our Reservations Team, when you know where you will return the car to, so that they can make the changes on the system.

Please be aware that there is a one way fee of 15 Euro applies for one way rentals within Sixt locations in Germany.

I hope this information is helpful.
Please let me know if I can be any further assistance.

Thanks
Sabine

Manual transmission cars in Israel?

Hi, anyone know if it's possible to rent a manual transmission car from Sixt in Israel? (Or what the fleet choices are there in general?) I'm coming for a two-week vacation and am looking specifically for a manual.

Thanks!

Platinum Card & London Rental

Hi,

I shall be renting a car in London during early April, I'm a Sixt Platinum card holder. What can I expect if I rent a ILAR, for pickup at either King's X or Marble Arch? Is satnav fitted to all cars in that class?
Also, for Platinum card holders, which car class will the complimentary upgrade be (i.e. SDAR or FDAR)?

Dear Senna60_94,
I checked with our Kings Cross location and they advised that the ILAR would be BMW 120d. As a Platinum card holder would be upgraded to a FDAR. Unfortunately not all of these cars have the satellite navigation system built in. Therefore I would suggest to book it at time of reservation to ensure you will receive it.

I hope this information is helpful.

Best Regards
Sabine

Hi thx! So King's Cross will be identical to Edgware Rd wrt BMW 120d? Is this the new generation 1er?
If I book SDAR, what car will that be? Which class will the upgrade be if I book SDAR?

TIA

Hi,
I was thinking of renting a car at the Brussels location. For some reason, the website was acting weird. I have SixT Diamond. The benefits suggest I should get 20% off; however when I plug in my information, the rates I see don't' reflect that much discount. Secondly, it seems if I rent longer, it's cheaper. If I only wanted to rent for the weekend (ala pick up friday morning return sunday morning prior to flying out), it's more expensive.
Finally, what type of car can I expect if I want to rent in the CLMR category? (BMW 1 serie)? What about upgrade? And is there a reason why the rates are so expensive? I'm getting Avis (I'm preferred member there as well) for less than 100 Euros for the entire weekend. Just curious. I do not intend to flame Sixt here...
Thank You

Hi buck3y3nut,

Its good to hear from you. As a Diamond card holder you are entitled to up to 20% discount off your rentals and subject to availability a double upgrade.

If you would like to forward me the details of the dates you wish to hire a vehicle in a PM. If this isn't today then please send your message to my colleague Gary Coughlan as I will be out of the office Thursday and Friday this week.

Our rates do vary depending on availability but I will do my best to get you the best price I can for the rental you require.

Many Thanks,
Gemma - Sixt Customer Service Team

I am sorry, but this is really too much incorrect information here from the representatives.

1. there is no 550i in LDAR in Germany: incorrect, Sixt has 550i GT xdrive, and not only 1 or 2

2. there is a oneway fee of 15€: incorrect, firstly the fee would be 18€ at airports and secondly, it doesnt exist anymore since november 2011

3. Sixt Diamond receive a double upgrade subject to availability: incorrect, Sixt Diamond receive a guaranteed one class upgrade

I think, everyone really appreciates your work and you are helping many of your clients, but the information you are getting from Germany is somehow incorrect.

Dear Tia,
yes you can book it for Kings Cross or Edgware Road. Our vehicles are or not older then 12months.

If you book a ILAR you would receive a double upgrade to a FDAR as the SDAR is currently not available. If you book a SDAR you will receive an upgrade to the next available group, which also happens to be an FDAR.

Best Regards
Sabine

Sixtisbest, you stated there are 550i GTs available. Could you provide as to how you came upon this information given, as you said, by Sixt representatives?

I did book LDAR for March and would expect to obtain the 535i, but if there are 550i's available, then I would love to get one of those. I figure since I'll be picking up in Munich, I would have a higher chance of getting a 535i/550i (if avail.) then in other locations in Germany.

I have seen a 750i in Frankfurt last year so I don't see why they should not have any 550i's.

sixtisbest Feb 17, 2012 12:49 pm

not really sure, what you want me to do.

do you want to have number plates of 550i from Sixt?
example: M-GF 9443

btw, Sixt ONLY has 550i GT, NOT 550i sedane or estate.
and the chances that you are getting one of them is very low as is the chance to get a 535i
the 535i which Sixt has, are a bit longer already in the fleet and if there are not new ones coming, they will be out of the fleet by March already.

chances are much higher that you get an Audi A6 204PS or 245PS with Diesel engine or 525d or 530d

the assumption, you are making, that, because Sixt has 750i (yes, they do) Sixt also has 550i is a bit strange to me. until a few weeks ago, Sixt did not have the 550i GT and the 535i was the biggest available.
