Merc CLS and CLMR Car Classes?

4 Quick Questions?

Last week I picked a car up from your LHR Branch and I noticed some Merc CLS's parked up. What class do I have to rent to get one as I dont see them in any of your classes?

What cars are currently in your CLMR class at Manchester Airport?

What cars are currently in your FDAR class at Manchester Airport?

Also is there any new additions to come soon to the above car classes?

PS Very impressed with the BMW 520D Sport I rented last week, shame I cant seem to get one in april from manchester airport when I require it.

So no new BMW 3 series?

Hi senna60_94,
our Fleet Manager advised that we the new BMW 3er will not join the UK fleet this year. However, this may change.

Hi Sabine,

I think there is a misunderstanding. The SIXT Station "IntercontiKÖ" is in Düsseldorf and KÖ stands for "Königsallee", the famous shopping street ;)

I am pretty sure they are still open.

Cheers,
Philipp

Hi Philipp,
sorry my mistake I presumed you meant the Interconti in Cologne. And yes the Sixt Station "KO Interconti" is still open.

I am very sorry.

How abt classes CLAR & IWAR? What will they be?

Hello senna60_94,
CLAR- would be a Vauxhall Astra or VW Golf

IWAR- would be a VW Jetta. However, we have not to many on our fleet and therefore it is more likely that you will receive an upgrade to a higher group.

1) My credit card offers CDW coverage in Israel (Citibank MC World) and I have a letter of coverage explicitly stating this. Will Sixt require me to take CDW or other coverages, or will it allow me to use my CC for CDW coverage?

2) If the answer to 1) is Yes, I can use my CC for CDW coverage, then I will have to split my rental into two, so that I don't rent for longer than 31 days. Are there any cost considerations to doing so?

3) Given that I am renting for such a long time, does Sixt have any reduced rate programs I can take advantage of?

Thanks!

Dear Dschwarz,

I am currently checking the first 2 point with our office in Israel and I will let you know as soon I know more.

Generally the daily rate for long term bookings is cheaper then rental just for a day. Is this rental for personal use or business? If it is for business then we may be able to look into open an account for you with a more competitive rate.

Best Regards
Sabine

Young driver surcharge

I will be traveling to Frankfurt am Main on May 2nd to May 10th and wanted to rent a car with SIXT. I am currently 22 years old (held a valid license for 6 years in Canada). On the website it says any Young Driver will be charged Euro$10 a day for the rental to a max. Euro$50 per month. My rental period will be 8 days so will i be charged Euro$80 or $50?

I am currently into the ILMR class and FDMR class, which car will it most likely be in each case? I will be with 3 other people and 4 pieces of medium sized luggage.

Also if i pay the quoted price online (eg. Euro$405.13), the only charge i will see at the counter would be the Young driver fee, correct?

Thank you very much

Florian

Hello Welch9,
If you wish to hire a Mercedes CLS, please book vehicle group XDAR.

We currently have VW Golf, Vauxhall Astra and Ford Focus in the CLMR group and for the FDAR group it would be Volvo S60, BMW 3series and Audi A4.
In the moment our Fleet department will not extend the fleet in these groups. However, this may change later on in the year.

Best Regards
Sabine

Hello Dschwarz,
I contacted our office in Israel and they advised of the following:
All credit holders who decline our CDW & TP Insurance must accept the TLPC/LDW as this is Mandatory and can't be declined. In case you would cause damage to third party or to property we cover them. This is never covered by any credit card company.

The coverage offered by the credit card Companies covers only damage caused to the rental car.

In regards to splitting the rental, I would suggest that you place two different bookings, one without insurance and one with.

Best Regards
Sabine

Dear Florian,
The young driver surcharge will be 50Euro.

In regards to vehicle available in the group, please see following link: http://www.sixt.co.uk/php/fleet/vehicle_group_list

The fleet guide also shows the space in the boot. As you are 4 people we would recommend that you book an estate (IWMR, FWMR) to ensure that all cases fit in the boot.

The young driver surcharge will be added at start of rental and charged at the end of the rental. There should be no further extras on the invoice unless you request and agree to it at start of rental or the vehicle is not returned with a full tank of fuel.

I hope this information is helpful.

Best Regards
Sabine

United MileagePlus miles with Sixt rental?

Questions for the Sixt representatives...

I'm looking at a car rental for a few days on an upcoming trip to Slovenia (picking up the car in downtown Ljubljana, dropping off a few days later in Portoroz downtown).

I see this offer on Sixt's website:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Sixt - Partner with United.

Milage Plus
500 Mileage Plus miles per rental with Sixt rent a car worldwide

Special discounts for Mileage Plus members
Up to 10% discount on all rentals with Sixt rent a car and Sixt rent a truck** for Mileage Plus members

** On all offline and internet private customer rates of Sixt rent a car and Sixt rent a truck valid at time and place of rental. The discount depends on local availabilities and cannot be combined with specials.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Here are my questions:

1. I generally book through a local agent that I've used before. If I have my agent make this booking for me, can I still take advantage of this offer?

2. If yes, what specifically does my agent need to do to be sure I get the United Airlines miles and the 10% discount?

Thank you!

BMW M3 Cabrio in Germany - from EUR99/day

A few questions for the Sixt Representatives:

1. Is this offer available to Australians? (It doesn't appear on all parts of the Sixt website);

2. Offer shows Flexi Tariff with no prepayment required - are there any cancellation conditions/costs? I can't find any on the website.

3. Conditions state that a 'A deposit of up to three times the hire price is charged to the chosen means of payment as a security. The deposit for high-value vehicles may differ. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.' Can you please clarify the deposit payable (for an M3 Cabrio for 10 days from Frankfurt Main Airport from July 1) and whether it is actually charged or just authorised to credit card.

Thanks in advance!

Dear nwflyboy,

Unfortunately, we are unable to confirm if you are still able to collect you Mileage Plus points and discount if booking through a travel agent. It is depending on the rate agreed between the agent and Sixt. It may be possible but we can not confirm it without further details from you travel agent. You may want to pass my e-mail address ([email protected]) to your travel agent, who could contact me with their IATA number and their Sixt account number.

However, in the mean time you could sign up for the Sixt express card online and then e-mail me your express card number and your United plus number. We then will be able to ensure that you discount code applies and you collect your points automatically where possible.

Express card link: https://www.sixt.co.uk/php/cards?typ...ss&language=en

Alternatively, our reservation team would be more then happy to place the booking for you and answer any questions, which you may have. Their contact number is +1 888 7498 227.

Best Regards
Sabine
