Reservation Details in Berlin
Hi Marie...
I have a reservation (res #: 6047442446) for a one-way rental from Berlin to Venice. I'm currently booked in the FDMR category (3-series or similar) and have requested the NAVI and Diesel options. I was wondering: a. if I could put in a request for a specific type of 3-series (325d/330d/335d), and b. if I could get an understanding of the various insurance requirements- this is my first time renting in mainland Europe. Sorry to bug you, but I had one more question. I signed up for the SixT Card (member #: 8370235) and realised afterwards that you guys had the option to jump directly to Gold status for United Mileage Plus Premier (I'm Premier Exec) and Starwood Gold members. I submitted an upgrade/change request, but wasn't sure if it took effect Can you check on my Card's status to see if it's been applied? Thanks again! Pramit |

From checking the website it is possible to do a one way rental however it may be that the dates you are requiring is limited availability. Just a new member and slightly worried about my sixt booking. In a nutshell I did have a booking with sixt from 06/07/2011 from Alicante Centro Hotel Melia and then returning the car to Marbella Hotel Alanda on 13/07/2011 for which I paid €236.92. HOWEVER I have changed my booking due to a change in circumstances that have rendered this change necessary; I have changed to collect the car on 06/07/2011 (same) and to return the car to Malaga Airport on 22/07/2011. Therefore the total price of the rental has gone up to €516.85. I spoke to someone at the sixt UK call centre on Tuesday who confirmed to me that my card would be charged with the difference between €516.85 and €236.92 which would be €279.93 which included the extra rental plus my young drivers surcharge of €69.99. My problem being that my card has YET to be charged with the extra (over 24hours since I amended the booking) I have been required to pay to sixt despite receiving a confirmation of booking. What I need to know is when will this be charged to my card and if I can get sixt to push the payment through asap!? Help! Spoke to 3 people today who all gave different answers however a chap called Adam at the call centre was particularly helpful with the problem. |

From the information you have provided I have located your pre-paid reservation. The pre-payment of 236.92 Euros has been charged to the credit card provided however the outstanding amount of 279.93 Euros will be charged at the end of your rental now. Any changes to a pre-paid reservation are charged at the end of the rental and not at time of the amendment. I hope this has helped to answer your question. I've now been told 4 or 5 different stories about when my card will be charged. What I require is my card to be charged with the difference before I pick up my rental as having the situation whereby my card Is charged after the rental is not at all possible. I do apologise that you have been told a number of different things as to when you will be charged the remainder of your rental price. Through our systems the remainder of the amount will be charged at the end of the rental when you return the vehicle and unfortuantely we cannot take payment now. There is one suggestion I can make, if you wish for the full amount to be charged now you could make a new reservation for the required dates, times and locations and this will then be pre-paid for the full amount and we can then cancel the reservation you currently have free of charge if you make another reservation. I am renting a class FDAR from your Paris SAXE agency this weekend. I have been a longtime Hertz customer and this is my first rental with Sixt so I had a couple of questions. 1. I really need an automatic car. Can I be sure that an automatic will be reserved for me? 2. I noticed some of the license restrictions for France. I recently moved from Atlanta to San Francisco and my new license was issued this year. Will this be a problem? I have held a Georgia license for over 16 years but my new California license makes no mention of this. 3. What kind of hold should I expect on my Credit Card? 4. Is there anyway to match Hertz Status? 5. What kind of car can I expect in the FDAR class @ the Paris Saxe location and is there a way to make a request for a certain model? I have some similar questions to lots of others here, regarding my one-way rental from Rosenheim to Vienna for September this year. I have booked and pre-paid a BMW 5er Touring (LWAR category) (there are 4 adults, all with luggage), and would like to be able to make sure I actually get this class of car (either the BMW or Merc listed for that category of vehicle would be fine) so that we all fit. I'd also like to find out what the hold on the credit card would likely be. Is it possible to determine these things if I can contact you directly with my booking number? Thanks. |
