According to Sixt restrictions, it clearly says BMW is allowed to enter only in Zone 1 countries (western Europe) in addition to L*** group in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Since the BMW 520d is in LDAR group, it is allowed in the Czech Republic. Now if I get upgraded to a BMW 730d which is in XDAR group (and obviously not allowed in the Czech Republic), is the restriction based on the car itself which is XDAR or the original contract which is LDAR?

I'm having the same question! I'm currently looking into renting a car to drive from Berlin - Prague - Munich, and I can't for the hell of it understand
this sentence:

Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen cars are allowed to enter only in Zone 1 countries in addition to L*** group in Poland and the Czech Republic.
Does this mean I can rent any Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen and drive into Czech republic, or does this mean I can only drive into Czech republic if it's a Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen AND L***?

Thank you so much for the clarification...

Audi A6, BMW 5, and Benz E fall under the LDAR and are allowed. L (Luxury), D (Sedan), A (Automatic), R (w/ AC). Google for SIPP codes.

The Audi A8, Benz 7, and Benz S fall under XDAR (I think) and would NOT allowed.

I have Hertz PC.. if I get upgraded to BMW 7, would the restrictions be based on the upgraded vehicle or the vehicle I reserved for/

All,

I'm due to pick a car up at the start of September and this is the first time I have booked with Sixt USA despite being a platinum member.

I have booked an XFAR for 3 weeks from the pickup at MCO airport in Orlando.

Does anyone have experience of this pickup location?

What sort of condition are the cars in? I'll be doing a lot of miles so the cars need to be in good shape.

There's a lot of mixed reviews of Sixt @ MCO, and I'm nervous as a result.

Thanks
MP

Heading to SEA in July for a wedding, curious if anyone knows the extent of the higher end cars offered here? Was looking at a PCAR/LCAR or maybe splurge on a XCAR. It says XDAR/XLAL/etc are all 'sold out', are they even available at SEA?

Restrictions are for the vehicle you actually receive, so be sure to tell them if you want to travel to a restricted country.

Hello all,

I have an upcoming reservation and for whatever reason it is not showing up under my account. How do I go about adding an existing reservation to my account? I also seem to have forgotten how to add a FF# to a reservation to earn miles....... rough day for me I guess..........:p

I got the car from their downtown location as there is no fee for dropping the car off at the airport AND you save on airport pickup fee.

Their downtown location was about 2-3 blocks from train stop near harbor so it wasn't bad at all.

That said, I booked XCAR, but received LFAR and claimed it was an "upgrade". I got Mercedes GLK which was tiny SUV with barely any room in the luggage area. Interior appointment was nowhere close to E series, more like C series, but since it was an "SUV", it was considered an upgrade.

Maybe XCAR was not available? I DID see YUKON pull out from the lot so I am guessing they do have that car.

Hmm. I've owned both a C and an E class, and agree the GLK interior feels far cheaper, I wouldn't call it a SUV like I would a BMW X3/4/5/6. I'm traveling with my older mother for a wedding so will need to pick up at the airport as she isn't too inclined to go out of our way to get a better deal offsite.

Many thanks! I wondered about that.

Just finished a 3 day rental from Sixt in MCO. BMW 282 coupe. Car had quite a few dings, but were noted on the rental agreement. Received the car fresh from the car wash and was hard to notice anything not already noticed. Car worked great and the return was great as well! Planning on renting with Sixt again in LHR.

STAR category in England this summer

Sixt UK used to have lovely BMW 2 series convertibles as their STAR category in the UK in 2015.

This year availability for this car type shows only in Scotland, at all English stations it is marked "sold out".

Supply problems with cars not available at all ?

What happens with people having already booked long time ahead this STAR category ? Will they still get a convertible or should they switch to overpriced Europcar ?

I've rented Sixt/MCO twice, and experiences were good. Be careful of the pickup location, as of last January (my last rental there) they were still texting out the wrong pickup area. Staff was good, no problem getting my platinum upgrades, and while the cars aren't perfect (typical dings to doors etc.) they've been in good running condition.
