If I remember correctly, booking an XCAR might get you into an XFAR (X5, ML, GL, Escalade). I don't think they can upgrade you any higher without you paying an upgrade fee.

deposit for a bmw 5 series
Hey guys, I have to rent a car next week and I was looking at the prices that sixt has and they are pretty good. I know on their website it says that for some cars they charge a deposit up to 3 times the amount of your total reservation. My question is, is it the same amount for a 5 series? My rental location will be in Orlando(by MCO). Also, how new and what options the 5 series comes with? I know last year I was able to get a 5 series from another rental company but it was pretty used, it had like 20,000 miles and it was from Texas but it was pretty loaded, it even had navigation. If they don't have a 5 series, what other options do they have under that same car category?

According to the reservation website, there is availability. My point is simply that it doesn't make much sense to offer a benefit if it can be denied on a whim. Also, you do make a good point that if I want to be certain to receive a 'vert, I should book that class. I can't argue with that, and I would if the current rate was not 6x my XCAR rate that I jumped on months ago. At this point, I'm just trying to figure out the policy and what the plan is if I cannot be upgraded. I am also a National EE with plenty of free days, so I guess it would not hurt to duplicate book just in case. However, I'm very much hoping Sixt works out. |
What's "similar" to an Audi A1 in the CCMR category in the UK ?
I think I'll book that group next month for a couple of weeks but I rarely see the A1 in stock. It is often charged at a premium to other similar sized vehicles and is designated as "premium" I'd feel pretty silly getting offered an Astra etc in place of one |

Pay tax twice?
Hi all!
Picked up a car at LAX 2 days ago. Nice car and everything went smooth except for one thing. I made the reservation two months ago and prepaid the full amount including taxes. Or so I thought. At the counter I chose the prepaid fuel option and when I was handed the rental aggreeement they wanted me to pay tax on the full rental amount. That meens that I am paying taxes twice on the rental. I am actually paying tax on the original tax that I already paid. I did not have the time to discuss the matter for more than a short while and I could not get the manager to understand my point. If I prepay and pay tax when doing so, should I have to pay tax again? |

Hello, i do have a upcoming reservation in Germany, my first time renting with sixt there, I'm platinum, the reservations details are:
pick-up station: Berlin Tegel Aéroport Flughafen Tegel/MWZ class: LPAN MODEL: Premium class e.g. BMW M550d Limousine/Touring *NAVI* or similar. My question is, what in the world is similar to the BMW Motorsport/380hp/diesel? Sixt took almost 7 days to confirm my booking(This vehicle group is only available upon request. Our Sixt station will contact you within 2 working days.) and I don't know besides the M550 which other car may I get. Could someone please clarify that? |
Sixt - Any Questions?
According to a German rental forum the M550d is the only car in that class. Enjoy the Autobahn

http://www.mietwagen-talk.de/index.php?page=Lexicon&lexiconID=5 Don't know about the upgrade costs as I normally don't rent at premium stations Let me know if I can be of help ( in example translating English- German so you can ask on this forum) |
Green card for travel through Bosnia
Hi, hoping someone from sixt can help me out.
We are visiting Croatia in a couple of weeks and picking up rental car from Dubrovnik airport before driving to Split. It is necessary to briefly enter Bosnia and re-enter Croatia. For this a 'green card' is required. Most people online seem to think this should be included with vehicle rentals in the region, but is there any way I can confirm this? I am very confused as there doesn't seem to be any official information out there on this. Thanks |

I just rented a BMW 5 series at LAX for 10 days and the deposit is 1500 dollars. Its a bit of a surprise since this is my 5th time that I rent a car in that category and the deposit has never been more than 200 dollars or so. In Orlando, 2 years ago, I got an E350.
