The interesting thing is, that I received a voucher for an upgrade when using the quick-check-in machine but that machine tells me that there's a specific car at the counter. the A3 thus was the normal Platinum upgrade... |

MXP Milan Malpensa Airport Booked Fiat 500 Was offered Fiat 500 or Panda (supposedly same class but more POS interior), no mention of upgrade. I asked if they had other cars, i.e. that I cold pay extra for, she said "those are the only 2 cars we have", (my coworker was renting the other). I walk to the lot to get the keys & the car and there are prob 25 cars sitting there, all the way up to GLKs. Epic Fail @ MXP like all services rendered there. All she had to do was quote some high rate for some other car, maybe I would have declined. I do understand others were reserved, but still. :confused: |

Planning to rent from Sixt EWR.
Called the UK line and they advised me that EWR is handled by their partner, National. Wondering if they will honor the Plat upgrade - probably not, as each time I was there renting under BD, they tried to put the rental under their own program and upsell me. |
Continental/united at Stuttgart
Found out that Sixt has a deal for co/ua passengers flying to Stuttgart. Apart from a discount and more miles I got an upgrade by presenting my boarding pass! Sweeeeet! Found details at Sixt.com/united, I don't know why ua/co are not promoting these deals widely.

LJU (Ljubljana, Solvenia) Booked VW Polo manual gear Received VW Polo automatic gear, brand new one (15kms when I got it). Not a real upgrade, no mention of it, but was happy to receive automatic gear car. A special mention as well to the SIXT staff who was very friendly. I highly recommend them in Solvenia. |

at MXP Reserved Fiat 500 or Similar Got Fiat Panda 4 door I guess this was in the same category, so no upgrade was offered. When I picked it up, there were many one/two category up cars available. So should not expect upgrade at MXP At least, the car looked newer(less than 5000km) and in good condition but small scratches on rear bumper. In Europe, many people use bumper to park their cars, so it could not be avoidable. I always used secured paid parking. I checked other cars since I stayed at Sheraton where was located 2minutes from the Sixt garage. Most cars look newer. |
