It's probably viewed the same as one-ways. Sixt won't buy thousands of new cars in CA while thousands sit under-used elsewhere. And that car may eventually wind up in still another region eventually.
The key difference is that, for some reason, Sixt seems to prefer to pay to reallocate cars itself, rather than lowering one-way rates, to incentivize customers to do it. There are some cases where Sixt one-ways are competitive, especially when they open a new station, but rarely. |
4th April LAX booked Mercedes C Class got Lincoln Nautilus with less than 2,000 miles and all the extras. I'm Diamond, thanks to Marriott.

How do you folks track which status you have? There is no page to view this imo in Sixt. I have Platinum (through Amex), but don't see anything. And definitely have not received any Platinum benefits (such as an upgrade) before :D

Sorry mods for doing a bit of "offtopic" chatting here. I opened the app, I see Sixt One and "Platinum" written under it, but upon clicking I get "Sixt One is coming soon". I guess I'll have to wait until it's live in my region (Finland). Thanks for the help!

Status: Platinum
Location: LAX Reserved: BMW X5 or similar Received: Mercedes GLE -------> Swapped for BMW X7 next day Landed around midnight, had a delayed flight no choice in other cars, next morning noticed car has a windshield crack on passenger side windshield, reached out to CS had LDW -- set up swap at location, did not have comparable class wanted to upgrade me to X7 with choice charge of 25$ a day, stood my ground and ended up getting X7 without choice charge for 1 week for only 400$ (this is accounting for AMEX target offer of $100 off with $500 or more purchase at SIXT) |
April 22 Alicante (ALC)
Platinum ZERO upgrade offered at the counter or app. I rented Opal Outlander that is what I got, mind you there were 25 BMW Estates, SUVs sitting around, My gut told me to with National and I should have |
I have a rental at EWR for the long weekend. I am a Hertz President's Circle member, but I have never used Sixt. Which company offers a better selection+CS? I will be driving through multiple states over five days, and the prices for Hertz and Sixt are similar. I have read that Sixt provides customer service that is on par with, or worse than, Hertz. Is that true? I can status match with Hertz, but I also want to add another driver and Ill be booking via priceline (as rates are better in sixt).
