Status: Platinum Reserved: ICAR (Nissan Sentra or similar) Received: FCAR - Subaru Legacy Hilariously the app offered me a $25/day upgrade for this car which they just gave me at the check-out desk. I wasn't driving much this trip so didn't care all that much about getting something fancier. |

They had a bunch of Escalades and Yukons. A X4, a X7, a 7 series, , a Z4, an 8 series, MB GLS, and couple of 4 series were also on the lot. |

Location: YVR Status: Platinum Match Reserved: LCAR Mercedes C-Class or Similar Received: IFAR 2024 Nissan Rouge on FL plates with 37800 Miles and 3/4 of a tank of fuel remaining This location had 228i xDrives (F74), 330is (G20), Audi A3s (8Y.5) and a lone X5. They also had Toyota Tundras, Corollas, Mustangs, Wranglers (Willys with hardtops) and Tiguans (All base models except for the Wranglers). We came here to exchange a previous LCAR rental from SEA due to a smash and grab so we were ok with the downgrade they gave us (we asked for a 330i or something with lower miles but he said he can't do that as they all had Canadian plates). Date: July 25, 2025 Location: SEA Status: Platinum Match Reserved: XCAR BMW 5 Series or Similar Received: 2025 (registered in March) G60 on CA plates with 9300 Miles Went the counter to pick up a car as the app wasn't working as I had just returned my previous rental and they had yet to process that. They agent initially offered me an i5 (wasn't sure if it was an xDrive 40 or eDrive 40 but it had CA plates)but I needed a gas car. He then gave me the choice of a 740i xDrive with Nevada plates for 160/day (negotiated it down to 80/day but that was still too much), and when I said I didn't want to pay for an upgrade, a Volvo XC60 Core. During this process, I repeatedly asked him for an 5 Series (or other XCAR) but he kept declining, claiming that they had no 5 Series available, until he told me to proceed to the booth at the parking lot. The guys there were significantly more helpful and friendly, and were surprised that the agent at the counter said they had no 5 Series (they had a couple in the overflow lot and gave me one of them). Oddly, the only premium cars this location had were a few XC60s and V60 CCs (around 4 of each), and one 330i (CA plate; there may also have been a 430i but I wasn't sure), C300 4Matic (CA plate), the aforementioned 740i and i5, a GLE450 (WA plate) and CLE300 4 Matic (WA Plate; there may have been two of these). Most of the cars they had were stuff that wasn't worth remembering (GMC Acadias and run-of-the-mill crossovers and sedans often found in other companies). |

I had a similar question as you can read above. I’m going to San Francisco July 31st through August 8th. I’ll post my experience after my trip and let you know how I make out and what I see available. If it’s any help or relevant to what’s available in Munich. I booked a BMW X3 “or similar.” I’ll let you know what I see and what I’m offered so you have some form or reference.

SanFran
Just dropped off 8 day rental from San Francisco. Booked an X3, received X3. Was offered a Mercedes GLS 450 for an additional $80 a day but declined. I booked the X3 and got it no problem, so I was happy. 2024 model with just under 30,000 miles. Some body damage, but nothing major. It was all reported in the initial check in through the app, but I did go over the vehicle before I left the lot just to verify any nicks or dents were already recorded. If I had one complaint about the rental experience, it would be that the car wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. Not terrible, but not good either. All in all I'm happpy with the experience. In San Francisco lot, there were many BMW’s. 4 door, 2 door coupes(3,4,5,7 models) X1,3,5’s. Some standard budget rentals, a few Mercedes. The lot was mostly BMW. More of those than anything else. Hope this is helpful to someone.

Was unable to confirm online, checked in at the desk and was offered a Volvo as no 2 Series available. Showed the agent my email with 4 Series and he initially said it would be $80 per day upgrade but ended up giving me a 4 Series at no charge (with no further asking by me). |

Hello
considering booking a X7 or similar in Miami airport. What is in the “similar” category of the X7 of Sixt? As I read it Will likely be the X7, but what else could it be potentially? |

This is years ago, when I did a lot of travel between BRU and LEJ. One option was to fly to TXL and rent a car, but the selection of cars there left me cold. And since the flights were often delayed, or didn't have suitable timing for me, I started driving.
Figured out that it's possible to reserve a car Sixt in BRU never had available, and thus the fun began Location: BRU Status: Started with nothing, ended as Platinum. According to the "Sixt US Fleet List" thread, the X7 is in the Fullsize Luxury SUV (XFAZ) category as are the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class and the Cadillac Escalade.

Imagine the disappointment of having booked a premium German car, only to be saddled with something only a trader in Columbian marching powder would find appealing.
|
Odds of getting the Escalade are much less. Most locations have that as a separate booking for significantly higher then a x7 or gls.
