Sixt: any issues?

I am a loyal Hertz renter and because of my UA 1K status I got Sixt Platnium so gave them a shot a few weeks ago in Berlin. I got a nice BMW (happy with car) but then returned at FRA....now my problems start! Took 15 minutes for agent to get to me, another 10 minutes to go over the car and then in very, very bad english says ok and have good day. I asked for final invoice and he goes away for another 5-10 minutes then comes back and says no he cant provide one. Ok I figure walk away and now there is 196 Euro fuel charge on my bill!!!! I filled the car to the rim 1 hr before at a cost of 71 Euro and am waiting for instructions from Sixt where to send copy of charge it but no word back yet from them.

Has anybody had issues like this with Sixt? I rented one other time a few years ago in Spain and it was fine. I am just blown away they cant/wont provide a final invoice from the handheld device or at least take you inside for one.....is this the norm?

I am very sorry to hear that. I regularly return cars at FRA oneway rentals and returns and never experienced such problems, especially regarding the fuel charge. I would send an email or fax and explain, that this can be correct and you are not willing to pay the bill. Normally they sort it out within 2 weeks or so. Good luck!

cbrown5294, this unfortunatelly sounds very familiar to me.
I have over 100 rentals with SIXT a year and nearly every time when returning a car and due to flight departure in hurry and no time to wait for check-in report they charge me fuel, though I always fill the cars up.

Totti, I would love to say, that I can second your experience, but its different in my cases.

Still, SIXT always accepted my complaint when sent via mail including the petrol station receipt and retransfered the charged money for the fuel-fee.

So just send them a mail and they will react pomptly.

... addition: I just only have those kind of problems at the FRA SIXT station regularly. By now I am tempted to believe that they either are very sloppy in checking the cars or the are "cheating" on purpose here.
This is NOT typical for SIXT !

Resolved-but not easy

After 1 week of back and forth it has been credited. It was very difficult since I misplaced the gas recipt and had to get my credit card company to pull copy, etc and the customer service at Sixt did not seem very sorry. The thing that bothers me the most was that the check in guy took FOREVER to look at every inch of the car, inside and out and I waited for 10 minutes and still could not get final invoice. I guess in the future returning to FRA I will use Hertz

Did you chat with Gary or just continue direct with Sixt? It seems he was truly trying to assist with your issue.

Let's be honest here, it shouldn't matter who the OP contacts at Sixt, the service should have been better. Bad enough to have been billed incorrectly for the fuel in the first place.

To the OP: If you could take a look at my private message sent today I would appreciate very much your feedback.

I have to admin that I do not have 100 rentals with Sixt per year so my sample size is smaller but I just returned a car in FRA again and everything was fine. But I agree that there are better places to return a car than FRA

Renting cars with Sixt for years and had only once a problem with an incorrect fuel charge. Got that solved quickly as in/out milage clearly proved that there must have been in error.
Never took me more than one minute to return a car in FRA, at the city centre station they don't look at all!
