I just put this together in a few minutes so unlikely to be optimal routing/schedule.

Ex-BKK should be much easier as dont waste the mileage to/from CMB. Instead try to include some BKK-NRT-BKK sectors.
Just to add, isn't it the RTW ex-CMB is not that great in terms of the fares? More expensive than ex-BKK?

Also in the *A forum (and also linked in the sticky), there is a thread with *A RTW prices from many countries, and a helpful tool by wearybiztrvlr which converts to common currency to ease comparison of the fares.

That's the beauty of BKK as a starting point, isn't it? You can pass through BKK once, in addition to starting and ending there, as I understand things.

Useful for maximising sectors between NRT and SIN, for example!

Yes, that's right. RTW's ex CMB aren't fantastic. BKK is best cause of the 2 intl departure rule

I just tried this route on the *A RTW MC:

BKK-NRT 30/04/06 SQ996
NRT-BKK 10/05/06 SQ995
BKK-SIN 10/05/06 SQ67

and it said 'BKK visited too many times'

I thought with the 2 intl rule that this would have been OK ?

Is this route OK or is the MC a pile of pants ??

The mileage calculator doesn't take this rule into account, so yes, it's a pile of pants i suppose

You could try NRT-BKK-SIN and that should be OK as on 10/05/06 you're going from NRT to SIN via BKK.

*A useful reference links has the link to *A RTW price comparisons 2005 (eff 15 Apr) and wearybiztrvlr's RTW fare spreadsheet (which also includes OW and ST!).

I hope this helps (sorry for being lazy before).

So in the MC, do I put:

1) From: NRT
To: SIN

or

2) From:NRT
To:BKK

If I take option 1, I won't be maximising PPS sectors ?

and doing option 2 (as I originally tried, SQ995 -> SQ67) triggers the error !!

Option 1 is the one that I have used in my scenario planning.

Maximising PPS sectors is a separate issue. You have to ensure separate coupon when making your booking.

Just to be sure; it is possible to request/specify separate coupons when making my booking ?

When you say coupon, that means a separate paper ticket for each sector ?

Assuming you book thro a human travel agent, you request separate coupons (yes, therefore possible). This is what I have been told. Your paper ticket has lots of coupons - Hope I am clear.
