You must have been lucky. My wife transferred from SCB on 4 Dec, called in a week later, they were clueless, and had to wait until 18 Dec for the miles to show on KF. Absolute shambles. Citi's miles always post within 24-48h for me.

From my experience with Stanchart Singapore, if you have enough points to redeem from one card, it's pretty quick and straightforward. Things get hairy when they need to move some points from one card to another to hit the redemption amount.

And generally their customer support framework leaves a lot to be desired... typical of foreign banks in Singapore who outsource to an inch of their lives away, your calls get answered by some call agent in India or Malaysia, who can't do much except read from script or whatever T&C (which you already have access to anyway). Anything that requires investigation requires them to raise a case for someone else to call you in 3-5 days time, if you're lucky!

Well, it looks like we got disproportionately unlucky with them then, as my wife only holds one card with them, so it wasn't a pooling issue. Good thing that SQ let us hold the seats quite a while so that we had the luxury of time on this occasion.

Chase UR.

Submitted Wed, Dec 23, 5:00 PM USA Pacific time USA
Therefore, 10am Dec 24th SGT.

Going on 45 hours now. Miles not available yet. First time transfer.

Bad timing probably with the Holiday. My expectations are low to see the transfer complete anytime soon.

Shouldn't these processes be automated already? How else are big banks (like Chase) supposed to deal with thousands of redemptions each day. Unless the bank still needs someone to press a button somewhere...

completely.

I work at a large tech company in system design and it is incredible how many processes that should be automated require some level of manual button pushing or writing "approved" in an email response back to the system....usually a compliance thing or just a bad process design thing, who knows in this case.

My assumption is these requests go into a service queue, reviewed by an actual human to confirm A=B (the miles deposited = the miles that will be given out), who clicked approves. I can't think of any other reason for such statistical variance in time to deliver the miles.

Transferred on 18th December from HDFC and still have not received the miles even after a week.

Called krisflyer and they asked to wait for 15 days to see.

Update : Finally miles posted with original miles entry for 31 December and bonus miles for 4 January.
