On a call today they at least admitted the website had issues. They verified my bookings as still being in the system and confirmed they too are not able to retrieve it through the website.

Just checking the SQ site for flight schedules - you know where you can see the little airplanes over the days of the week.

When you hoover over the plane - normally it will show you the type of aircraft. Now it reads" DEVELOPER! INSERT DATE OF FLIGHT HERE"

I don't call this teething problem - but just an unfinished website - can't imagine they launched this!!

Wow.... I'm not sure which point I find more comical...

the "oh but it's ok, we can't access the website either, don't worry" or the message to the developers...

Shouldn't they just put a big sorry message on the main screen and reverse back to the old site until they actually fix all these issues??

Ah, but that would mean a big loss of face which I don't think would go down well at SQ.

But even for SQ (or any other Asian company for that matter, when it comes to not losing face), I think that, for their corporate image, it would be better to "lose face" for this time and please its customers rather than being the laughing stock within its customers base for almost a month now...

Has anyone transferred AMEX Membership Rewards Points to their KrisFlyer Account since the new website went live?

I Checked in Successfully!

I knew that it's trouble so expected to spend an hour for online check in. Have our passport info ready & input twice! Surprise! It took me w/in 20 min!
Tips: be patient & click & wait!
Gd luck!

Petition to reinstate the old website.

Hi everyone.

We love Singapore Air and we are proud to say we flight with them.
Still the new website is a bit of a problem.

We've started a petition to ask them to reinstate the old one.
Please sign up if you would like the old website to be reinstated.
We'll send it up to the CEO and maybe they will listen to our feedback.

Thank you.

Never copy the Italians.

...and here is why (I think) the new Singapore Air website is so bad: they copied it from the Italians.

The website for Singapore Air has pretty much the same structure and even the same text as Alitalia (the Italian state airline).

http://www.alitalia.com/US_EN/home/index.aspx
http://www.singaporeair.com/SAA-flow...execution=e5s1

The text of the main menu (Special Offers, etc) is almost the same.
So it's the text for the tabs:
(SQ) Search Flight = (AZ) Flight
(SQ) Online Check-In = (AZ) Web Check-in

Even the "Location" entry is in the same spot, and much more.

Or maybe both of them just bought an off the shelf website template for 10 USD
Or even worst, they got an Italian web company to design the whole thing, which would spell disasters. (Note: I'm Italian but I live in Singapore)

I can understand copying the Italians for their taste but certainly not for their organizational skills (which shows in the web site).
Having said that, I think the Italians have some of the worst websites in the world.

Can't help but laugh. When I go to the homepage, I get:

"We could not find the page you were looking for"

... You're telling me Singapore Airlines lol

Try emptying your cache end delete all your temp internet files. It works fine by me (and by work I mean: the site shows up correctly )

This is certainly a persuasive argument - what I was told, after complaining bitterly for the upteeth time to the kindly call staff that I could not do so many things I took for granted before, was that the site was changed to make it compatible with Amadeus......so as to synchronise information available to travel agents and website users.

So many broken links.....

My latest attempt to retrieve the booking class table for mileage accruals returned an error page...

http://www.singaporeair.com/pdf/ppsc...FOALLevels.pdf

It's taken from a link on the conditions section, after I calculated the mileage accrued for a flight (http://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/pp...ge-calculator/)
