2026 Let's Eat - Economy Class (Worldwide) & Premium Plus (Domestic)
Rare privilege to start a "Let's Eat" thread here... so I'll contribute two reports.
My wife and I split the tacos al pastor last week. I appreciate the attempt, but it's not something I need to get again--too much pineapple, no trace of the advertised cilantro, and what is rice doing in a taco? Also, very messy to eat.

The chicken and waffle breakfast option was much better, with that bacon to balance out the sweetness of the waffle. This was also the first time I'd tried the new-ish bloody mary mix; the smaller can size turned out provide the right proportion of mix to one airline bottle of vodka.

I had the hot honey chicken waffle sandwich on EWR-DEN in Y - it was quite good. On KOA-LAX, I snagged a Kalua pork sandwich - also pretty good! Honestly would not be disappointed to have either of those show up were I flying in F.

Hi Gang,
Flying ORD OGG Friday in Y.
Looking to confirm there will only be 1 meal service (assume shortly after departure)?
What is likelihood of bistro on board availability? And if available, I assume the best thing to do is order immediately after departure so it doesnt run out?
My wife is breast feeding and seems to eat all the time. Trying to think through food strategy.
thanks!

UA 925 LHR-IAD 2/28:
Probably the most empty TATL I've seen in years - only 30 or so pax in Y with plenty of empty seats in J.
Main dish was "Seared chicken in mushroom sauce with a rich barley risotto and broccoli." Was decent - I asked for a second one because I was starving. The flight attendant serving my row obliged, but seemed confused at my request...she kept asking, "Is there something wrong with yours?"
Very senior, professional LHR based cabin crew...they seemed quite bored during the flight given the light load. They probably passed through the cabin every 30 minutes or so with water bottles.
IIRC the aperitif service isn't supposed to be done as a separate service on the 763 (due to galley space), but crew delivered the aperitif first with drinks, then did a pick up, then did more drinks, then the meal. I'm guessing because of the light load.
Crew set up a snacking station in the rear-galley with water, juices, and extra nut/olive kits. Standard pre-arrival hot pizza wrap. Frankly I would have been starving at the end of the flight if I didn't pack extra snacks.
Didn't realize UA had new, turquoise colored blankets in Y - they are much thicker than the old navy ones. Even one of the FAs was talking about how much nicer they were.

The double bacon egg sandwich was an untidy meal as presented on a DCA-IAH flight Friday--one, surprisingly thin side of the English muffin had gotten stuck to the packaging, and I had to use the bamboo knife to get it unstuck. Good, greasy stuff overall.

also, the aperitif snack service is a nice classy touch youll find only in United Economy, youll never find anything remotely close to it on Delta or AA.

HKG to SFO is decent as a noodle fan. Chicken noodle has the thicker noodle which has more carbs and is a little less enjoyable. The pre arrival pork breakfast noodles is one of my favorite with the thin noodles.
