IIRC the aperitif service isn't supposed to be done as a separate service on the 763 (due to galley space), but crew delivered the aperitif first with drinks, then did a pick up, then did more drinks, then the meal. I'm guessing because of the light load.
Crew set up a snacking station in the rear-galley with water, juices, and extra nut/olive kits. Standard pre-arrival hot pizza wrap. Frankly I would have been starving at the end of the flight if I didn't pack extra snacks.
Didn't realize UA had new, turquoise colored blankets in Y - they are much thicker than the old navy ones. Even one of the FAs was talking about how much nicer they were.
should have gone after the main meal service to ask for a 2nd entree to avoid the confused looks and questioning … but am so glad you were able to satisfy your hunger on United!
also, the aperitif snack service is a nice classy touch you’ll find only in United Economy, you’ll never find anything remotely close to it on Delta or AA.
