There seem to be quite a few people who ask "Where's Jet2?" etc. when they're standing directly in front of the desks that say "Jet2" on about 100 red signs
Or they'll go to Easyjet to check in / drop their bag for Jet2....no matter how many signs are there, they still get a bit confused!

Impressive. That's certainly not my experience with Loganair, who also use the biometrics. The biometric scanners seem very temperamental. Guess it depends if you're in row 1 or row 30 on an EI A320!

If it is working as well as that, I wonder why BA objected so strongly? AFAIK the current BA arrival process is because they wouldn't use the biometrics.

I don’t know if that is correct, from discussion I’ve had the biometric option was not on the table for domestic arrivals, only for CTA and that was necessitated due to those passengers needing to clear customs but not immigration.

First BA flight for a while and only 3 mins late pushing back.

Got the LHR and had to wait for a stand.
Airbridge broke half way, so a good 20-30 mins whilst they thought about getting steps, but then decided that would take too long (2 sets of DHL steps next to us), and are going to wait for an engineer to turn up and hopefully reset the airbridge.
Probably going to take longer to open the door than the actual flight!

Luckily I've got a couple of hours for my connection.

Added: off before half past and 30 secs to get through transfers.

My guess is that building an access from the immigration hall to domestic arrivals would be too tricky. CTA passengers basically just need a way to bypass the actual passport check but can then feed back into the same process. Domestic PAX do not (although tbh, I'd imagine that a fair proportion of BA passengers DO need to clear customs so who knows!)

I thought Loganair were using the bussing and the biometrics for all their arrivals, although I may be wrong. Same with EI (Emerald) from Belfast.

Loganair definitely are using the biometrics for IOM although, because of the customs union, IOM isn't subject to any customs when arriving in the UK- the domestic arrivals channel is used everywhere else.

I've Just arrived at SEA and today it makes MAN look amazing.

10-15 min walk from the plane to baggage reclaim.
15 min for my bag.
35 mins for GE as systems down.
10 mins to get through security / bag drop (3 times i had to use the scanner)
10 mins for 2 trains

Looking forward to walking down the short walkway to the station next week!

Ah yes, so would I be, but Etihad cancelling my inbound flight has put a stop to that. Maybe later in the year....

Have they now completed the taxiway repairs/upgrades at MAN?
A few months back there were reports of long delays between landing and "parking up" at the stand.

They announced that the taxiway upgrades were completed earlier this week. Not sure if there are still bottlenecks to access the a gates or not.

I raise you KUL arrival a couple of months back...

10 minute walk to where the shuttle was supposed to be - shuttle not working.
10 minute walk up and down stairs to what I assumed would be immigration. It was actually a bus stop.
5 minute wait for a bus - then some poor women in a wheelchair being literally pushed onto the bus by her arse (big step - no chance of being wheeled on). She was made to stand initially until somebody took pity on her and gave his seat.
10 minute bus ride to immigration
5 minute walk to immigration... for me. I was through immediately using the eGates. Missus refused at eGates.
20 minutes for missus to get through after queueing
0 minutes for baggage as it was already on belt! Whohoo - we're on our way. Beer anticipated in 15 minutes.
10 minutes to find Emirates driver. It would be helpful if they had a sign as the instructions were wrong. Beer anticipated in 10 minutes.
45 minutes to get to hotel. OK - that was my fault for not checking how far the airport was from KUL city centre

Got beer at 00:30... Bar closed at 01:00

Here is the repurposed use of the old T1 chandeliers.
Just after security in T2. Don’t dislike them, not finished yet so will see what they look like once they are all up!

Nosied onto the MAN website today to look at lounge availability for May and still can't book anything...however...!

This did lead me to discover that the brand of the new lounge will be 'The Executive' by Escape Lounges and is bookable from 1 July 2026 when all the lounge availability is opened back up https://escapelounges.com/uk/airport...l-2/executive/

*From* Ł57.99, or Ł69.99 walk-in price but entry only allowed 2.5 hrs before departure time (so realistically it's 90 minutes max if you like to be at the gate for boarding long-haul when it starts) or 3hrs before departure time if you are by Airline Invitation (willing to bet BA will still be in the regular Escape lounge lol).

Also there will be a seated dining room within the lounge available for booking in Autumn - imagine for First on certain airlines, and from looking at the booking info it'll be another hefty wedge (probably called The Executive by Escape - Dining or something similar) given the current product is called The Executive by Escape - Buffet.

Hadn't spotted any posts about it so apologies if I'm duplicating effort with the info!

Interesting. I assumed this was going to an airlines-only lounge, but sounds like this new one takes over the 1903 remit and the old 1903 space just gets added to Escape.

So just sounds like a wholesale increase in T2 lounge capacity?

Doubt BA will pay for a premium lounge offering!
