I am contemplating staying at Bellagio Las Vegas next year and can chose from a Virtuoso or STARS rate. From what I understand, STARS would be the preferable option as it's the 'in house' reward programme at the hotel (apart from the MGM programme).. I'm not putting too much stock into this being 'prioritsied' over an FHR or Virtuoso rate at the same property for upgrades etc but nonetheless have nothing to lose by making the STARS booking instead.

What I can't establish is the exact T&Cs of the $30 pp. breakfast credit. Breakfast isn't typically a meal we love, but, if the credit is included it would be good to know the parameters. For example, The Buffet is listed as an option but this venue only offers brunch, not explicitly breakfast. If i turned up at 1pm would the breakfast credit be deducted from the charge? Or, to count as 'breakfast' can it only be used at the named venues AND within a timeframe? The venues are specific and easily found but the timeframe is not.
  • Credit is US$30 per person per day (max two), must be charged to room. Valid at Sadelles, The Buffet, Bellagio Patisserie, Palio, Caf Gelato, Pool Caf. No room service. Tax covered, tip not, no rollover.
  • Buffet: weekdays brunch until 3pm, so you can use it at 1pm. Weekends it flips to dinner at 1pm, so no credit after that.
  • Sadelles goes until 3pm daily, so thats your later option.
  • Officially its breakfast/brunch only. Unofficially, a few reports (Reddit, FlyerTalk) say credits sometimes posted against later meals if charged to room. Dont count on it.
  • STARS vs Virtuoso: benefits basically the same.

Thank you very much, really helpful. Weekday stay Mon-Fri. Not to get in the weeds, but does charging a cheeseburger (not typically a breakfast food!) at Sadelle's at 12-1pm fall into the 'don't count on it' category or is everything at Sadelle's safe until 3pm? I know it sounds petty but breakfast is really our least favourite meal of the day.

There is also $100 F&B credit which I understand can be used across the MGM network - Bavettes' at Park MGM gets a good write up to use against but happy to take more learned steer on best utilisation of this credit too.

Does Amex luxury hotels booking also earn Marriott points and give Marriott status benefits?

JW Marriott Tokyo 30% off Cherry Blossom Season

JW Marriott Tokyo has 30% off on Luminous rate when staying 3 nights or more, for stays in March and April. This effectively works out as stay 3 pay 2.

This rate is stackable with your Marriott Bonvoy benefits, plus daily breakfast and a US$100 credit.

If we book two Marriott STAR rates under different guest names and we stay together, would we receive two $100 property credits?

Member A
- Check in on Day 1
- Check out on Day 4

Member B
- Check in on Day 4
- Check out on Day 7

Should we inform the property at check in on Day 1 or just do the regular check in/out process on Day 4?

If you willing to change the room, should't be a problem.

Is there any reasons why you don't want to use classic travel?

I have used this German TA often, and recieved very good service: https://reisetopia.de/hotels/

Also, this Swiss based company (with website in english) offers these rates as well, though I believe with a membership? https://www.asmallworld.com/

Indulge me, I am rather green when it comes to travel agents.

I'm contemplating a stay at Westin Hapuna Beach Resort this summer using a mix of points + paid stay. I am hoping the paid stays can be done using the Luminous rate.

It's probably not realistic to expect to be able to keep the same (upgraded) room, but of course, I wouldn't mind. I am only a lowly Gold.

Looking at Classic Travel the Rate plan description says:

Luminous Promotional Offer, deposit required Complimentary Breakfast Additional 50USD one time resort credit Early Check-In and Late Check-Out based on availability Welcome amenity and note from General Manager Complimentary basic high speed wireless internet access
Am I reading this right? I will have $50 resort credit per stay to use on this resort in addition to getting comp breakfast?

The rate is lower than what I would book on Marriott site directly. What's the catch? This sounds too good to be true

It does say this under Total:

* Additional tax & service charges may apply
Maybe the total I was quoted on the site is not the final total. If so, how can I find out what the final total is?

Thank you.

Theres often a misconception that Marriott STARS and Luminous rates are more expensive. Thats clearly not the case with The Westin Hapuna Beach. Your understanding is correct - you would receive a one-time US$50 credit and daily breakfast. Final rate including taxes should display before booking.

Exactly. Very often Marriott runs promotions that include discounts and free nights, making them cheaper than member rates,. And these rates are almost always on flexible rates.
