Breakfast for Golds is in the restaurant unless you get upgraded to an executive room, which isn't very likely nowadays...last time I stayed, I was given lounge access as my "upgrade" as I was booked in a deluxe corner room and did not want to move to an executive, like Chang11 .
Was looking for our first stay at Ritz (where I have lounge access), but Conrad was for the fraction of the price on the executive floor.

The evening food offerings in the Executive Lounge have been significantly scaled down since pre-covid. The one great upgrade is French Sparkling Wine added to the Wine List.

What would you do?
Im booking a 2 night stay at this hotel, travelling with my mum so needs to be a twin room.
Im Gold, so could (technically) be upgraded to Exec with lounge access. Would you book the Premium and hope for the upgrade (seems unlikely reading this thread?) or just book the Exec?
The price difference is negligible TBH (about 60 for 2 nights), but as a true Yorkshireman, if I can save 60, Id like to save 60. 🤓
Not sure if itll make much of a difference but will be booking a Hilton for Luxury rate. Would be interested to read feedback from Golds booking this rate type and what your experience was.
cheers

Hi,
As a Scot

I think if I was a gold ( and have done so before getting Diamond status) I would pay for the Exec lounge to guarantee lounge access ( 60 for 2 nights is pretty good) and not having to worry about any potential upgrades until arrival . If I did not care about access or the difference was a lot more then i would not.
Some afternoon snacks and evening snacks/drinks will pay for the difference in price
( Have not stayed at the Conrad bangkok so not sure on the upgrade chances as a gold)
Regards

As a frugal person who's stayed a LOT of nights at that hotel (and a lifetime diamond) - pay for the upgrade. You'll be lucky to get a corner room upgrade as a gold.

EDITED
Currently staying at Conrad Bangkok this is now my 12th stay.
Had a bumpy start with the first few days of our 6 night stay not that great.
Much better today, breakfast at Cafe 2 noticeably quieter and more relaxed with plates cleared promptly.
Pool area fairly quiet with plenty of sun beds available.
All in all much improved as our stay has progressed.
