Believe as 2021 and 2022 were blank extensions, not spreadsheets were created for those years

Yep - spend more please to keep your value to us -- even though it will decline and we will make you think it is for your best interests....

Yes -- it's that time of the year when we all get "threatened / reminded" of how bad it will be to lose status.... Kind of sad actually - but I'm guessing it works for a percentage of the MP community....

Rest of year planning

I'm at a bit of an inflection point as I'm booking a work trip for next week while looking at the second half of year travel planning. I just requalified for 1K the other week and sit at ~28k PQP, 16 PQF, and ~21,000 United BIS (11k BIS on partners). I'm IAH based and my most frequent work travel route is to the KSA where I'll likely have another 2-4 trips in J between now and year end. This is where I find myself in a bit of a conundrum: do I stick with the grueling IAH-EWR-DXB-KSA route and chase a distant dream of GS or do I hop on either EK or QR for the long hauls and turn a two stop into a one stop.

I'd love to get GS if only for the check in lobby at IAH on my personal trips with our two young kids but don't want to waste my time if there's likely no shot as a first timer out of IAH with potentially 50-60k PQP by year end if my travel pattern continues.

How much of the 28K PQP is on non-UA metal?

I wouldn't feel more than 50% confident of a GS invitation at less than $75K in UA spend.from a hub.

If any of that is from partners and PQP head start, you're probably wasting your time.

That's what I was thinking as well after checking out the spreadsheets. The UA metal spend is only ~20k since my last trip over had some LH on it

Didn't get an email but checked out the mystatus page and saw this. I think it's the same message as last year with a bit of re-wording.

Reaching United Global Services

United Global Services is our exclusive, invitation only status, reserved for top MileagePlus members. We extend a limited number of invitations annually to select Premier members based on their outstanding United and United Express flight activity over the past several years. Unlike Premier status qualification, eligibility for United Global Services is not measured by the number of Premier qualifying points earned, but instead on several other criteria.
  • Members who receive United Global Services invitations tend to increase their flight activity each year, fly in premium cabins, and purchase fully refundable tickets – all exclusively on United.
  • MileagePlus members directly influence the annual criteria, as we compare activity amongst our top fliers.
  • Achieving status is increasingly competitive each year, and previously holding United Global Services status doesn’t guarantee a future invitation.
Book your next United flight today!

I'm based out of IAH and made GS the last two years with 55-65k spend on UA. A majority of my flights were international polaris which is what I think really drives the qualification. Like others have said, you're probably extremely borderline. Making 1K the past years may help your chances.

I used to go to DMM a couple times a year. The EWR DXB route is nice because you can really stretch using united metal, but alternatively I would look at going to LHR or FRA. I would often fly into Bahrain, stay there and then carpool w/ a coworker. The airport is much nicer in Bahrain and so are the accommodations.
