I’m likely not going to make it for the first time since the merger and wondering how the details of a “GS challenge” might work.
Any details or experience from others?
I’m assuming it will be revenue/spend based and I’ve got some Q1 travel already booked for 2023. Wondering if it is worth postponing any more purchases until Jan 13 or if flight credits will be for the threshold spending.

Does anyone know if UA has done soft landings in the past for people who don't requalify for GS? I'm currently GS but my 2022 flying is only enough for Silver for 2023. I obviously don't expect GS again, but wondering if I might get a soft landing to Gold, Platinum, or 1K.

Would you fly GS levels in 2023? Maybe you can request a challenge.

I have the annual, standard “Update in Progress” screen instead of GS Reviews will be completed by January 13 message now on the MP status page.

"Status update in progress
It's not you, it's us. We're taking a look at 2022 Premier activity and updating everyone's status for 2023. We'll be ready to share any status changes, new benefits and more by early afternoon on January 1, 2023"Last edited by MMA95D; Jan 1, 2023 at 11:49 am

I think they are done now with the status updates they are going to do before the 13th. Mystatus page is back to the review by the 13th.

Interesting. I have not yet been re-confirmed as GS for 2023. I had a bit over $40K pqd. However, my (new) MM companion had his status upgraded to 1K (not GS).
I have always re-qualified in mid-January, but the companion for the forthcoming year has always been upgraded to GS around January 3-4. This does not bode well.....

I never received notification of requalification but the mystatus page shows that I am requalified as GS for 2023 as of last week.

Companion updates posted today. We had a few changes in our family and the new (and correct) status now shows.
