Hi,
Checking in online for the stay later today and app is showing no upgrades from a king deluxe ( highest floor is floor 3). Plenty of paid upgrades for for floor 4 ( Ł 42 for executive room and Ł112 for king suite). A bit unusual as I have been generally upgraded free on day of arrival
Will see when I arrive at LHR early this evening
Regards

Reading the above posts it seems that taking the 482 bus from T5 to Strarlight away is the easiest option is HBO.
Google maps is showing a 7 minute walk which takes you all the way around the PI hotel. This doesn’t sound much better than getting off at T4 and walking across the bridge.
Is there a shortcut that Google isn’t showing? I can’t make out any obvious shortcuts via the map.

Or 490 or H30. For 482 and 490, see posts 757, 829 and 831 for details on how to avoid the PI route, but that's probably the most straightforward route, and it won't take 7 minutes.

Hi
Got upgraded to an executive room 444 at checkin.
room is fine with an external view.
5 to 7pm for executive lounge. Hot canapes are vegetable arancini and mini cottage pies which were tasty.
limited selection of sprits and white and red wine.
Going to try oxbo for dinner.
booked a taxi to t3 tomorrow at 515 as my luggage is heavy.Ł26

The hot canapes and cheese at the evening cocktail hours
Had the battered fish and chips for Ł25 and a passion friut martini which was very good ( plus a few more points via the2x point promotion
Pantry is expensive ( ie 330ml can of coke for 5.00) but got a salted caramel ice cream to go with a nespresso coffee in my room
will hit the gym later
Regards

Made it to the Hilton from T5. Thanks to C-W-S and others in this thread for the advice.
Some more pointers for others doing this:
When you get off at Starlight bus stop in the direction that the bus came and not in the direction that it’s going which is towards the Premier Inn.
A few yards down and you’ll see a small service road on the opposite side with a red square sign saying STOP HILTON. Walk down that road and go straight through pass all the creates of good and stuff.
You’ll then come to the bottom of the car park. Go up the 4/5 steps onto the main car park area. Then right next to you will be a parking pay machine and with it 4 flights of steps.
Once at the stop of the steps you are in front of the Hilton entrance.
The steps are not good if you have lots of luggage.
Regarding the lounge, the food offering is pretty poor for a Hilton. The lounge is nice though.

There's a bus company called Diamond that run mini-bus services from towns close to LHR, including service N555, it's mainly for HAL staff, who subsidise the service, but the public can use them. Contactless payment is accepted. There is a bus due from LHR T4 bus stop 10 at 04:30 and this gets into the Central Bus station, by T2, for 04:48. If that's a bit early then you may as well wait until 05:00 when the tube starts from T4. Otherwise get the hotel to book a private hire, which is going to be in the Ł30 area. If they have Hilton points spare, then HGI T2 is possibly an idea since the redemptions aren't always at silly amounts.

A regular route of mine when I lived in Walton-on-Thames and not just for Heathrow staff, although perhaps that part of the route is mainly used by staff. I've always been vaguely amused that 555 is also an airport route in Bangkok (and which actually serves both airports there).

I stayed at the hotel a few days ago after arriving in T2 since the HGI T2/3 was charging more than double the price of other LHR hotels or sold out whenever I checked. Landing to baggage claims took over one hour and baggage claims to the Hilton via Elizabeth Line took another 50 minutes. Depending on public transportation for landside transfer between terminals seems like a cheap and unreliable solution. The HEX/Elizabeth Line platform at T2,3 was packed as was T4 Elizabeth Line platform with queues of passengers trying to get out and even longer queues of passengers trying to get in. Considering the T4 Elizabeth Line station must be relatively new it is badly designed e.g. locations of the elevators. No wonder LHR is ranked 22nd while HND which is about the same size in terms of passenger numbers is ranked as the 3rd best airport by Skylax. HND (where I had just arrived from) has free inter-terminal buses every 4-6 minutes throughout the day between its 3 terminals as well as free rail links.
But this post is supposed to be about a hotel! The hotel itself was fine once I got there just before the end of cocktail hours in the executive lounge where I grabbed cans of coke, soda water and nibbles similar to what The_Banking_Scot posted earlier. I was also upgraded from the basic King Guest Room to a King Executive Room on the 4th floor facing out. The room was fine and extremely quiet although it would have been nice to have a room with a bathtub after a long flight. Travelling from the Hilton LHR T4 to central London mid-morning the following day was much easier. The Elizabeth Line platform was practically empty as was the train which was waiting for me!

A minority of rooms have a bath tub, they follow the line of the internal stairway on both sides of the atrium. The front desk can find them fairly easily and they do seem to read the notes in the booking if you add it in there.
The EL did have some problems last week, it's sometimes easier to reverse out to Hatton Cross on the Piccadilly and come back through, given that T2 is some distance from HEX/EL and the tube is right by T2.

Had 2 recent stays here, the first booking a 4 night Park and Fly King room rate and the second a Flexible King room rate. Park and Fly rates can save a considerable amount considering the daily 24 hour car park charge for guests is Ł33. Each stay was upgraded to a King Executive room the previous night. On arrival, I enquired if any suites available and on both occasions was given a junior suite. The first suite, room 479, had a small bathroom with a walk-in shower, whereas the second suite, room 379, had a larger bathroom with separate bath and walk-in shower. Both these junior suites are internal rooms overlooking the hotel atrium and are quite dark even during daytime. Slept well in the super king beds and didn't hear any night time noise from the adjoining cleaners storage rooms. Great choice at the buffet breakfast in the OXBO restaurant. Exec lounge happy hour from 5 to 7pm and quiet for the first hour gradually getting busy during the second hour. Offerings similar to the Banking Scots a few threads up. Interesting fact is the the crews for the 3 daily Emirates flights from Heathrow to Dubai all stay at this hotel and hence take about 85 of the 398 rooms on a daily basis. On our second night, an Etihad flight had been cancelled and the queues at reception that evening took some time to clear. and the hotel was soon fully booked. My wife doesn't like the walk through the covered walkway so we used the concierge buggy to Terminal 4.to catch the Elizabeth Line/Heathrow Express to Paddington. On return a phone call from T4 to the concierge brings the buggy down to the terminal. Many guests with luggage take the airport trollies to the hotel through the covered walkway. All staff very friendly and another very pleasant stay at this hotel.

Thanks for the recent positive reviews. Agree that the rooms overlooking the atrium are quite dark - I quite like staying in them and looking out of the window at what's going on in the atrium. I didn't realise just how many rooms Emirates takes, although mostly there is at least one crew (with checked bags perfectly lined up) waiting in the small seating area in front of the reception desks for the shuttle.
