How about a confirmed suite at the GH vs a confirmed suite at the HC Ginza for 25k/night?

One big difference is standard suite for GH is 4 person occupancy vs 3 at HC Ginza. If occupancy numbers make a difference, that could be a make or break (in my case).

Ooh wow. Good catch. I'd all but given up on finding single rooms (or suites) outside of Tokyo Bay that could accommodate 4 people.

Original plan was 2 rooms at HR Tokyo or 2 HH Shibuya if I couldn't get confirmed SUA. For same price as 1 standard room, decided it was worth splurging.

I encourage you to watch videos of the rooms at Centric. I haven't stayed at the HC but I wouldn't unless I specifically wanted to stay in Ginza.

The King suite looks pretty nice in the video. Not warm wood and classic charm for sure, but solid for a 25k night and SUA before moving over to the GH or HR.

Confirmed Suite of GH is much bigger than confirmed suite of HC.

I've been in the Deluxe room at the Centric and it's pretty nice. Very well sized for Tokyo (listed at 505 sq.ft.). The GH is a business hotel, the Centric has a more interesting vibe IMO.

A taxi from HND to the hotel could be as low as 6000~, so it is quite economical with two passengers.
Mrs Willie doesn't pack light so seeing as we arrive HND 9pm, we'll simply take a taxi. It will be Saturday evening when we arrive, I don't know if that increases or decreases the amount of traffic on the roads, assuming former.

Traffic should be light after 9pm from Haneda. You can be there in 20-25 mins.

Stayed a few nights this week in an Executive Suite, 17th floor, great use of a SUA. Traveling with small kids, they were happy to sleep on the L shape sofa.

Lounge was pretty good overall. First day breakfast at 9am was chaos. I don't understand why they use such small serving dishes when the lounge is so full. For example they bring 6 hard boiled eggs, two seconds later they are done, then it takes them a few minutes to bring 6 more etc 🤣

Staff was helpful and proactive

Now that this property is Category 8, i.e. on par with Park Hyatt, I'm not sure how likely I'd be to stay again. We shall see

This hotel has been open for over 20 years, and they still haven't realized that for breakfast and (especially) evening "cocktail" at the "lounge" they're running a feeding trough not a lounge. It's very Japanese, to run things as they ought to be, not as they are.

I dont know if this has been mentioned before. But the evening spread hours are now divided into two sessions on certain days of the week when its expected to be busier (eg, Fri, Sat). 5:00-6:30 then 6:45-8:15. I think this did make the Grand Club table availability better than the last time I stayed here. Some of the club staff seems a bit stressed out, though. There are some guests whore too impatient. During the 6:30-6:45 intermission, bunch of people still hovering over the buffet looking, a few even picking at food with hands since the tongues havent come out yet.

Nice to have the option for Globalists to have breakfast downstairs at the restaurant.
