I have a trip planned for next April and have a GOH cert.so breakfast is covered.
From all that I have read it really depends what type of eater / drinker you are. Some people have a late breakfast and can skip lunch and then eat a decent meal at dinner. You'll have to run the numbers yourself to see how much an a la carte dinner might cost you vs. paying for a dinner meal plan. And remember, drinks are NOT included in the meal plan.

Hello,
I'm looking to transfer points from Chase and book for 35K/night but it's not clear what that stay will include? Just that its the Beach pool villa
1) Will I have the same upgrade costs that are quoted above given that I have no status with Hyatt?
2) Does anyone know if the room booked with points includes any meals?
Trying to decide if the point redemption is worth it or if I should look to book cash at another resort (open to suggestions) if the cost of additional fees/transfer/meals is excessive.

1. Same upgrade costs regardless of status. I had none. Well actually I am a "Discoverist" from my credit card but that doesn't mean much.
2. Rooms booked with points DO NOT include any meals. If you can find someone to give you a GOH then that would get yo breakfast.

There is an app out there call Staytus that has all the menu items listed. Someone here told me about it and it appears to have hotel info from all over the world listed. But I just added Alila.

When is your stay?
I may be wrong but I believe upgrade pricing depends on time of stay if it's during peak period or not. You're going in April which is not peak season so you were given pricing based on that. A couple of posts up another guest was also offered $200 for upgrade to ocean OWV.
The person above who posted higher upgrade prices may be going during peak season and was thus offered those higher upgrade prices.

It is during the dry season but from my experience most resorts will consider peak season to be from mid/late December (holidays) through March. Doesn't mean that you can't have dry weather before and after that, you most likely will but April is already when the peak season is usually tapering off and that's why you may have been offered better upgrade pricing. Again, this is just my theory and once the OP let's us when they got the higher pricing for, we'll know if it holds any water or not.

If you're going peak season which I'm assuming means somewhere between Dec '24 and March '25, the fact that you got higher upgrade pricing is not proof that it's going up because the other guests that got lower upgrade pricing are going later than that in April '25. If we see that subsequent stays thereafter during the lower season as well as peak season stays next winter ('25-'26) receive even higher quotes for upgrades then we'll know it's going up. But either way won't be surprising because prices just keep climbing up everywhere overall.
