Current 2023 First Class meal service status -- FC meal service consists of plated meals (including hot options) between hubs and to/from most larger stations (exception stations listed below only receive cold meal box options) on flights over 900 miles which depart before 9PM (scheduled). Pre-selection is available on routes with plated meal offerings (except those operated by an A321neo), while it is not available on cold meal box routes. In addition, flights over 2300 miles will receive meal service in FC for departures after 9PM.

Snack boxes are generally offered on redeye flights under 2300 miles.

Meal service is not provided on flights under 900 miles.

All D1 flights, domestic and international, receive hot meal service.

Current exception stations where only cold meal boxes (with no pre-selection) are offered in FC on 900+ mile flights (both to and from station). Market/Bistro snack boxes are served on flights that are AM return flights to hubs from previous evening arrivals (as the cold meal boxes would require refrigeration overnight ):

Just wait until you try the Fox Brothers short ribs out of ATL ;-)

Simply prepared roast chicken ex-MSP. This used to be called a wellness meal. Excellent, though chicken breast by its nature is always a bit dry.

Flew D1 JFK-ATH-JFK a little over a week ago. Probably the best food I've ever had with Delta. After years of complaining and providing suggestions, I was given preorder options of Greek style meals inbound and outbound. Fresh, colorful and very good food. Very happy with the changes. The purser also said they have done this for their routes to Italy and other countries as well. The only other thing that would make it complete would be to offer wine from Greece, Italy, etc. along with the cuisine. I'm glad to see these positive changes.

Has anyone had either the shrimp or the bratwurst ex-SLC? I'm leaning ravioli unless someone has had a good experience with either of those. Thanks!

ATL-BOS (A321neo, so no pre-select or menus)

I took the "short rib" which was excellent. I asked the FA if it was the Fox Bros since we were ex-ATL or the generic DL short rib, and the FA just said there is a Mashama Bailey card on the tray, she cooked it - basically she didn't know or care to look up the answer. The dessert was exceptionally sweet (again, no menus, so no exact idea what it was). Salad left a lot to be desired, just some greenery, pecans and a very heavy/rich dressing.

I assume the skip meal option allows Delta to load one fewer meal and reduce food waste.

I’ve had the shrimp and sorry to say they were not good. Extremely small, and the creole sauce had a processed flavor. Such a shame as I was excited for the dish as I love shrimp and grits.

Is there any update to when you will be able to preorder on an A321neo? On my flight earlier this week the FA (correctly since it was an odd flight #) took requests from back to front and I was not able to get my veggie meal of choice as i was sitting towards the front. The FA was awesome and worked something out but it's annoying that it is the only plane where you cant preorder, and most prevalent for the route that I travel frequently.

If the constraint is the insufficient number of ovens then I see no reason why they can’t allow preordering for people who book early and then make the hot dishes unavailable when the maximum number of them have been preordered.

I'll happily cosign this idea! (the option I wanted was the burrata salad so not even a hot dish requiring oven use).

Herb crusted lamb, merlot thyme sauce, roasted potatoes, asparagus, cherry tomatoes
I didn't see anyone else post a picture of the limited selection lamb. I tried it (JFK - AMS). I thought it was pretty good?
