Chase $10 bonus for switching to paperless statements

Has anyone signed up for paperless statements (getting a bounty or not) and then successfully chosen to resume getting paper statements? What was the procedure? How much push-back was there?

Thank you.

Was offered United miles for it a few years ago, forget how many. Immediately after the bonus posted I turned it back on. Never heard a thing on it

Maybe I'm the only one... but the thought of having to deal with even a few months of paper statements... I'd pay them $10 to not have to deal with it...!

But then again, we get a lot of junk mail in general...

We currently have about 40 different credit cards. I have them all set up to have the same payment due to. As they come in I add them to a pile and then 10 days prior to due date I go through the stack and pay everything. The paper statements help me make sure I dont miss a payment

And if a paper statement is lost in the mail?

All my statements are online only.

I have a tracking spreadsheet that has a similar purpose - helping me make sure I dont forget a card. And it also helps me track spend by card, loyalty program, and bank, and tracks various promos.

I also prefer to receive paper statements which also go to a stack as they come in. But I also set up payment reminder 10 days before due day. When the reminder email comes I go to card issuer site to schedule the payment, write on the paper statement the payment details (from which bank on what date).
To me it is much easier than keeps a spread sheet no need to keep up with the spread sheet, just update the Money software on my computer of the transaction.

BTW, the long sunset Microsoft Money software is so much better than all the Quicken / Mint thing. Cannot understand why Microsoft sunset it. You can tell there are still plenty of users in the world using it judging by the activities on the Microsoft online community.

In the 9 years I've been doing this I've never had a statement not make it to me, but I pay them off 10 days prior so I can confirm a few days later that all the websites say zero due. I've caught typos this way and also reversed payments (stupid Amex ending all their accounts in 100#)

Sure I could pay them that way too, but I find it more annoying.

You paper dinos don’t travel ever?

My spreadsheet travels with me in the cloud.

I used it, too, in the previous millennium

I wish a Microsoft had just released it as open source and given the community the option to maintain and enhance it. Perhaps they had too many dependencies on 3rd party code, but it would have been nice. It’s a miracle that it is still working, and likely a testament to the good coding skills of the original developers.

No need. I try as much as possible to pay off all statements before embarking on a month long or longer trip. We hardly do short trip. We usually have cards the statement dates would be just before or a few days after our trip starts - those are the cards I bring with us for spending on the road - they are more than enough to cover ALL bonus categories. By doing so, the payment due dates of those cards would always be AFTER we return home. There is no risk of missing payment. (I dont do auto-pay after reading some horror stories, incl a few on Flyertalk - I even helped a guy who was stranded in China during 2020? when Chase AutoPay errorenously flagged him not paying his bill while his CSR had over $800 CREDIT Balance from various airlines cancellation refunds, on how to tackle this with Chase. He eventually followed my suggested steps to successfully resolve the issue of CSR being involuntarily shut down by Chase while he was still stranded inside China.)

Spreadsheet requires too much upkeep. These days I dont even keep up enough with the occurrences of new card applications / old card closures because now the frequency is much much less. The past couple years I can just refer back to the email notification on the application status on the timeline (primarily for Chase 5/24 purpose).

Indeed! It is a really robust program. The sporadic DPs seem to suggest it also works with Window 11. I found a Microsoft Update interestingly is published in 2022, about the no longer functioning linkage with bank accounts online update. which was part of the original function but it is disabled in the Sunset versions. Though some users might not realize it on how to bypass it when they need to reinstall it on new computers.
