I want to receive the card and activate it soon, as I have a property tax payment that is due by Jan 31, 2022, and I want to put the payment on the Venture X to help meet the minimum spend.

Thanks.
Mine came via Fedex. Check your delivery manager screen if you have one setup. I saw it there the same day we applied.

It's not only interesting, it's highly problematic. I know dozen's of people's names, phone numbers and dates of birth (relatives, coworkers, neighbors, friends, enemies). That's all I (or anyone) need to maliciously add cards to those unsuspecting people's CRs. Their cards would arrive at my address; they would be none the wiser... until cards mysteriously appear on their CRs thanks to CapOne's laxity.

I wonder what would happen if you challenged that card, demanding its removal. (Not that you would, but hear me out.) I gather (correct me if I'm wrong -- as if) the reporting agency would then contact CapOne to verify the card was added legitimately. One wonders what CapOne would say. "Uhh, no, we don't have a SS#, but good golly we're kinda pretty sure that's probably maybe the right authorized user."
Yes, agreed. It seems a bit to easy to add someone without their permission.

I actually removed myself as an AU on my wifes account earlier this week. From what I've read it should be removed from my credit report within 30 days. I'll report back if that's actually the case.

Did you get the letter of explanation? Any update on your rejection reason ?

What are the thoughts on credit score requirements for this card? 790?

Friend was instantly approved at 670. She said that her score was down due to a few new cards in 2021 and recent high credit line utilization, but otherwise perfect payments, 25+ year credit record, etc.

In the meantime, you can access our lounges with our Digital Membership Card which provides card-free access using a 2D barcode found in our smartphone app or in the My Account section of our website. The Digital Membership Card is now accepted at all of our lounges.

Yes, it can matter what components go into a given score.

Or what scoring model they are using.

Tried applying, but was declined. Equifax was frozen. 3/24. Reason will be provided in a letter.
Applied for Venture few years ago with the same result.

Unlock all of your bureaus before you apply.

I can now answer your question. But before I do, permit me to opine that the question should be Does CapOne foredate the account open date from the date the account was opened to the date the AU was added? The answer is no, the account open date remains unchanged. However, if you insist that making NO change to the date is "backdating," then the answer is yes.

RNE, trusting that is as clear as mud.

I made the same mistake and was declined. After receiving the letter, I made sure all three reports were open and wrote to Cap One for reconsideration. I was approved a week or so later.

What was in a letter? I know a few people who applied with one of the bureaus frozen, and got approved.

I have applied for and received by Venture X. Am I assessed the annual fee immediately, or not until I activate/use the card for the first time? Same question on the 6 month spend window?
Thanks

There's no clock that depends on the card activation or first use. The clock starts when your account is approved, and AF is the first charge. But if you decide not to accept the contract after reading it, it's best that you don't use the card.
