I suspect it may have been down to a training issue with the person at the front desk at the time. They had the same terminal that you see at all other lounges, but just insisted on the physical card.

I thought all PP lounges now accept the digital card, but apparently not:
Lounge access is only available on presentation of a valid Priority Pass membership card. All lounges accept the physical membership card and the majority of our 1300+ lounges also accept the Digital Membership Card. To avoid any disappointment, we recommend you always carry both cards with you when travelling.

Similar reason of imprinting a credit card instead of just writing down the number - proof that the card was present. As Priority Pass access requires either the physical or digital membership card and not just the membership number, so just taking down the membership number probably won't let the lounges get paid.

same issue happened to me in one of the airports I visited. They requested a physical card. I contacted Priority pass and this is part of the email I got
In the meantime, you can access our lounges with our Digital Membership Card which provides card-free access using a 2D barcode found in our smartphone app or in the My Account section of our website. The Digital Membership Card is now accepted at all of our lounges.

How long does it take to receive physical priority pass?
I signed up on the priority pass website at the end of December 2021 and still haven't received physical card yet

I personally value priority pass between 200 -400 dollars each so suffice to say as long as the quality of the cap 1 lounge improves I will keep the card. I can't consider the amex plat due to the waitlists Ive seen first hand with the centurion lounge and csr will allow access with priority pass so why upgrade my csp. I have the Citi premier mostly for the extra 2 year warranty and 3x on dining, groceries ,travel and gas.

How many days did it take everyone to get PP working? Its been 3 days since I received the card and 6 since I was approved, and PP still won't work. I know PP says it can be up to 2 weeks but it seems everyone got there's faster. I'm tempted to call tomorrow if it still doesn't work.

I think I registered the day I got the card. Which link are you using?

It took a lot of work for me to get my Priority Pass from C1. The problem was with PP itself. I have PP from my Amex Plat card and I could not get PP to allow me to enter my new C1 card number into the registration form. The greyed out CC number PP had prepopulated was my Amex number (not C1) (although on the form itself, directly above the incorrect number was the word "Visa"
After literally many hours of conversation with both C1 reps (who were fantastic) and PP reps (less so), we got it straightened out. At least I have a membership number and a QR code printed on a piece of paper.
However, i have no card. It has been weeks since we straightened it out. How long does it take to get a card. I think I am already on the naughty list at PP for being such a pest so if I am being too forward, let me know and I will continue to wait.
I don't want to call again if I don't need to.

It sounds as if you had logged into your existing Priority Pass account. You need to create a separate account for each Priority Pass membership.

When I wanted to sign up for PP with C1, I had to sign into C1 and add my VentureX CC # to even get to the PP registration page. I did not enter PP via any other portal.
The first 3 pages of the registration went without a hitch. However, on the 4th page, where I had to reenter my CC# was where the glitch occurred. PP had the right card company (Visa) but underneath that, where you entered the CC#, it was already filled in with my Amex Plat number, and grayed out for good measure, just to make sure I couldn't change it.
To solve the problem, I had a 3 way dialog with PP, C1 and myself.
The ultimate solution was to have PP register me from their end and fill out all 4 pages. That then required me to change my PW since I had to use a PW to register. It was a mess.

If it had only been so easy...

At least there are some good news -- the C1-associated membership has lots more options.
I also liked their Primary coverage on car rental insurance.
