There is the added bonus of extra security if a product you buy online is not delivered, an airline goes bankrupt before your flight etc.

I think what deissi is referring to is not insurance included in some cards, it is the "chargeback" process. If you buy something on a card which is not delivered, the CC company will refund from "their own money" and deal with the vendor on their own.

It may differ in different jurisdiction, but in my case debit cards are also covered. That is how I got money back from the AB default.

IMHO the best "bonus" or feature of the DY card is ZERO fees cash withdrawls from ATMs anywhere in the world... Atleast thats the only reason I keep it in my wallet 😂

I'll suggest you check out Revolut. Free version has some ATM withdraw limits. No exchange fees, possible to keep multiple currencies on your account. It is a debit card, but works very well together with VISA/MC card. (Not Amex)

yes the 20% interest does not bother me as one does not pay monthly fees + ATM withdrawls are free.
Problem is we rarely travel on Norwegian so those cash points are useless but it was the most easy credit card I have got till now, just applied online with no questions asked just basic income and if I owned something.

Yeah it is quite popular, couple colleagues using it and so far so good for them.

What's the exchange rate they apply? In their pricelist they say 1,75% (I guess that's their margin) but no word on what's the actual rate? VISA mid-rate? Something else?

Not sure what they use as base rate (on which they add 1,75%). Here are my stats, as hike above what XE lists as mid market:

Thanks - not sure if it's applicable here, as you're SEK based, but still gives a good idea. The inconsistency is surprising, though - 1,53-2,74%

Some currencies have fewer transactions in my little database, ie error margin affected.

But there seems to be a risk premie on some cirrencies, hidden in the base rate they use.

Also, i noticed slightly worse rates when they moved from mastercard to visa

One doesn't have to cross the Atlantic for more rewarding payment cards or just more options overall. The UK is already much better. The Finnish mediocrity is pretty striking in rewarding credit cards. US based FT'ers would probably chuckle at a LCC branded credit card being popular. I've only seen AMEX as a viable option here in Finland - at least for myself, hence I pay 700 per year for Platinum. In the long run I might as well consider Gold, but then again I like how I now have access to the Centurion Lounges and other AMEX branded lounges. Plus it's nice to earn 1,5 MR points.

I haven't seen a good insentive to go for AY+ status and rake in AY bonus miles with a Nordea issued card. AMEX acceptance is of course lower here.

Nordea-issued MCs only earn 1 point per euro. SEB MC is better if you have status (up to 2 points per euro), and while it was available, DC was even better (up to 3 points per euro). Amex Platinum earns 1.5MR per euro which, when exchanged to AY points, only yields 1.2 points per euro so better than Nordea but worse than anyone else.
