I've only seen AMEX as a viable option here in Finland - at least for myself, hence I pay 700 € per year for Platinum. In the long run I might as well consider Gold, but then again I like how I now have access to the Centurion Lounges and other AMEX branded lounges. Plus it's nice to earn 1,5 MR points.
I haven't seen a good insentive to go for AY+ status and rake in AY bonus miles with a Nordea issued card. AMEX acceptance is of course lower here.
Nordea-issued MCs only earn 1 point per euro. SEB MC is better if you have status (up to 2 points per euro), and while it was available, DC was even better (up to 3 points per euro). Amex Platinum earns 1.5MR per euro which, when exchanged to AY points, only yields 1.2 points per euro so better than Nordea but worse than anyone else.
