One doesn't have to cross the Atlantic for more rewarding payment cards or just more options overall. The UK is already much better. The Finnish mediocrity is pretty striking in rewarding credit cards. US based FT'ers would probably chuckle at a LCC branded credit card being popular. I've only seen AMEX as a viable option here in Finland - at least for myself, hence I pay 700 € per year for Platinum. In the long run I might as well consider Gold, but then again I like how I now have access to the Centurion Lounges and other AMEX branded lounges. Plus it's nice to earn 1,5 MR points.

I haven't seen a good insentive to go for AY+ status and rake in AY bonus miles with a Nordea issued card. AMEX acceptance is of course lower here.
