This reminded me of how dim the eclipse actually is - ISO3200 and wide open, but still 0.4s exposure, so some blur. And manual focus, as even contract detect focus in Live View couldn't lock on. Manual focus at an effective 900mm is a challenge. I'd need something like a huge 400/2.8 or 600/4 and a newer body with better high ISO performance to do much better. Or a telescope mount...

My BOLD. Some DSLR has on camera noise reduction setting for astrophotography. Plus post process to further reduce noise. Your image is very good in that department.

I've used in-camera long-exposure NR for star trails - 30s and longer exposures, but haven't seen that type of noise for sub-second exposures. Lightroom does wonders - the raw images are pretty ugly....
