I too am looking for some of that Flyertalk Voodoo Mojo Magic.
Me, my fiance, and my friend are all going on a trip soon out of Seattle. SeaTac is notorious for its poor TSA lines (3 areas, only one open and it has a line snaking throughout the terminal). To avoid that, we decided to go for global entry since it works coming back from any country and gets you that sweet TSA PreCheck line.
Anyways, we all applied the same day within hours of each other, on 2018/12/04.
Payment was taken out on 2018/12/04 for all of them.
My friend and I were both conditionally approved within 5 days, on the 2018/12/09, whereas my fiance has now been waiting 9+ days now.
Wish they would hurry up!

Didn't notice until December 14!
If you're waiting to be approved, be sure to log in and check the website daily. I did NOT get a notification email as I expected to. Was starting to give up hope of getting approved in time for my trip next week, but very glad I decided to log on tonight! I'll be doing the interview on arrival at LAX next Friday 12/21 and will be happy to report back about that afterwards.

My wife and I applied and paid for GE on 12/3 and were conditionally approved on 12/10. If you count just the working days we waited, it was 4 days (submitted after business close on 12/3 and 12/5 government was closed). We are currently Pre-Check, but its set to expire middle of 2019. We dont have a GE office in our city, so well schedule the interview in Seattle or Houston during our next trip early next year.

I did get an email that arrived coincidently when I was checking my account to see if I had been approved. I was checking twice a day!

My SO applied for her global entry on 12/01 and the charge hit my card on the same day. Still nothing yet, hoping for that flyertalk magic to help as we're flying out right before xmas and it'd be nice to do the interview on that day.

Pending review over 4 months
Applied to GE on August 15, 2018 and status is still pending review.

Maybe it is because I sent a question in the CBP help website two days ago or just got lucky.

Update here on Dec 17 at 9am... Been posting here since about Nov 18...
Wife and I both applied on Nov 18, She got her conditional within a week.. Made an appoitment for Dec 18 (tomorrow) here in Las Vegas (here for 10 days) hoping to get my conditional but NOOOOOOO,,, LOL... still Pending... We go for here app in the morning - Plan to talk to the person there - will have my number and paperwork... will be interesting IF They have anything to say about mine?? I will post here how it all goes.

Applied 10/31 - still "pending". Checking the site religiously!
Husband applied same day and got approved and had his interview within 3 weeks. He's already received his card!
