Review forthcoming, but we've just had the first of 3 nights at the Hotel Imperial. It's been absolutely spectacular. Truly one of the best service experiences we've enjoyed anywhere--including Aman, Peninsula, and StR hotels.
Our paid entry level room was upgraded to the Imperial Suite. Truly incredible, if a bit laid out with some historical oddities. My mother's award room also was upgraded to beautiful Elisabeth Suite--despite there being no upgrade benefit at all for a second room booking. Truly impressive attention to detail and attempt to please.
Food and beverage exquisite. Had great lunch at the Cafe and a wonderful dinner at 1* Opus. Also was given free tickets to last night's Beethoven concert in the bar. An exclusive affair with award winning pianist. They reserved us front row seats...and awaited our (slightly late) arrival before beginning the performance. Yikes. But what a concert.
Concierge efficiently and graciously moved our afternoon city tour to our final day since it was raining for our first day. No issues. Just taken care of.
Air con in suite--wonderful. Concerns--handled quickly and easily. Just a perfect stay so far. Didn't want to wear a long sleeve shirt to dinner at 1* Opus for fear of being too warm--not a problem (unlike 1* Imago at the Hassler Rome or 1* La Terrazza at the Eden Rome).
Visited the Park Hyatt in the afternoon, as well. Beautiful property, as well, much more modern and clean in design, but lacked any sense of place and the service polish and consistency that seems endemic at the Imperial.

The concert sounds amazing.
OT, but my one experience with free concert tickets from a hotel was a Beach Boys performance (including a glass of cognac) in China. Obviously very different.

I just posted my review of the incredible Hotel Imperial in the Luxury Hotels Forum:

The Hotel Imperial was incredible. Absolutely incredible.
The Hotel Imperial is now added to our list of the 12 best hotels in the world of all time--now a list of 13 hotels. That list includes stellar and very well-accoladed hotels:

Your review brings back some fond memories and makes me want to book a trip back in time for the Christmas markets. I'm glad you reached the same conclusion on this little gem of a hotel as I did!

The Hotel Imperial is a fantastic place to stay in Vienna! I used points to book the base level room and with an SNA was cleared into an Elisabeth Suite 5 days out. At check-in I was introduced to my butler and presented with a small business card case full of personalized calling cards indicating I was in residence at the Imperial, a first in all my hotel stays. The butler showed me to the room and explained the features of my room.
My suite was a soft blue color scheme but from the photos it looks like each is quite different. I loved the beautiful chandeliers in living and bed rooms, both were dimmable. Fresh white roses were in the living room and each night brought a different delight (plate of chocolates, olives & breadsticks, etc) in addition to fruit bowl replenished daily the mini imperial tortes left on the bed. There was large walk in closet, the bathroom had separate tub and shower undoubtedly was the highest pressure shower I have ever encountered. I didn't care for the scent of Bvlgari toiletries but I'm sure others will love it. There were electronic shutters to keep the outside light & noise out and I heard no noise from any other guests in the hotel.
The hotel is in great central Vienna location. You can walk to most attractions in the city quite easily utilizing the central pedestrian only streets, however the trams and subway are close by the hotel as well. An uber to the train station was about 8 Euro.
I chose breakfast as my plat amenity and enjoyed dining in the outdoor area of Cafe Imperial during my stay. The food was of high quality with the usual selection and for those who like to enjoy a sparkling beverage at breakfast, Laurent-Perrier was available at the beverage station! I also enjoyed cocktails and snacks in the elegant lobby bar one night and enjoyed the live piano music.
Overall I loved this hotel and cant wait to return someday. The location, old-world elegance and the lovely staff all combined to make quite a memorable stay.

We have a few stays coming up at this property over the next few weeks. Any tips on laundry? Do they extend any free laundry to Plats? Any suggestions for dong laundry reasonably around the hotel?

Update: He doesn't have any personal experience but less than a mile away is
Stross SofortreinigungHoher Markt 2
1010 Vienna
Austria
I don't believe they are self service- I think they do "Fluff and Fold" Probably Way cheaper than using the hotel's service
