With $70 cashback from RFD, the $50 fee is negated, unless you prefer not to spend $50 on 5K points (which is understandable)

Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it's not possible. It hasn't happened to me either, but it has for one of my friends, when he cancelled and reapplied too soon. I know I've read of other churners who also posted their datapoints as well, with encountering a re-activated recently-cancelled card account.
Though it seldom happens, why not keep an open mind about the possibility, rather than comment cynically on people's otherwise well-intended advice?

You must get them pretty cheaply then. I'll pay you 1.1cpm for yours, and you can make a killing.
Unless you're short of and really needed the points to make an upcoming booking, why would anyone in the churn-for-points game bother to pay for them when there are so many practically free points elsewhere to be grabbed (at the cost of another credit hit, and even then, maybe not even a pull)?
And for anyone who has reasonable knowledge at redeeming Aeros smartly, selling points at 1.1cpm would also be a losing proposition as minimum value on an award booking is going to be 2cpp, if not double or quadruple that. So no thanks for the buying offer.

Absolutely not!...unless you have a TD All Inclusive account to wave both the primary cardholder's and supplementary card's $50 annual fees.

This does seem to have been resolved. I was one of those affected.

If you insist that redemptions are made at 2 cents per mile, acquiring them at half that rate is basically getting them on sale.
Not that different from amex business platinum at 50k for 399, or TD privilege at the same rate

In terms of credit report, if person A adds person B as an AU, does that show up on person B's report as a new tradeline?
In other words, does it basically look like person B recently opened a new account?
Is there effectively no impact on person A from a credit report perspective?

No problem. I look forward to you et al. trying to lecture members like CC et al. on the value/cost of points "because you fly J/F a lot".
Again, 5k points for 50 bucks for a sup card isn't a bad tradeoff, especially when you're already getting 50+ back through a portal.

(for the record, I think 1c/mile is fine)
