“Once the [Jussara palm] tree was identified as endangered we had to create a 1,100 sq metre [33x33m] sanctuary to protect it,” says Pinto, who is developing Amanoca with his brother, Derek. “This added eight expensive extra months to the entire development process.”

David Kaufman was a guest of Amanoca
article, back then, mentions 2014 for amanoca
there may have been additional environmental delays, seems like a big thing in brazil (reading other brazil news)
on top of usual delays especially for aman

I think the owners are rather to eager, whereas Aman knows how long things take. I would say fall/winter 2014 earliest.

Might I suggest that if there is a stalemate , that mr AZ and the (latest ) owners of Regent Hotels get together and work out a deal ?!
It may have even happened for all we know.
I can't think of a more perfect match .

Regent + Aman , the perfect couple .^
@:-)
Should know soon ..

like setai (and many others with different companies) in US >
http://www.ghmhotels.com/en/chedi-ch...and/home/#home
An attempt was made on the 4th November 2013 by the owning company of the The Chedi Chiang Mai to terminate GHM’s management of the hotel and bring in a new operator to manage the property.
Regrettably, the manner in which it was carried out was wrongful and violated key conditions and criteria from the existing management agreement. Given this unfortunate development, GHM has had no choice but to initiate legal actions against both the owning company as well as the new management company to address the many areas of violations and with it, to seek reinstatement of management and obtain full compensation.
GHM will also make every effort to ensure that its loyal guest and customers will not be inconvenienced with the intrusion and will ensure that the renowned GHM experience (one that has made The Chedi Chiang Mai one of the most recognised luxury names in Chiang Mai since 2006) remains unmarred.
Should there be any queries relating to reservations at the hotel, kindly contact the hotel directly. However, should you wish to explore other GHM hotels, kindly visit our website at www.GHMhotels.com.

DLF >

currently in negotiations with more than 5 bidders/investors. Mr. Zechacontinues to have the opportunity to close the transaction. We are confident of closure of the transaction in a short period of time at targeted valuations...Multiple bids under various stages of discussions; confident of a closure in a short period of time
http://www.aceanalyser.com/Conferenc...8_20130813.pdf
As we speak, we have now very active engagement with about five to six new bidders other than Mr. Zecha, and we are very confident that not only we will close this transaction in a short period of time, but it could be also a value accretive from our earlier target...Aman, are both hopefully in a very strong WIP [work in progress] situation

first half of this calendar year...most of the [aman hotels] actually doing 15% to 20% better RevPAR than last year

there is a substantial interest as the new bidders come on board and they look at what the operating metrics of Aman is
"calendar year" vs DLF fiscal year

http://www.dlf.in/dlf/wcm/connect/4a...4-32e7e137a21e
Status on Aman Divestiture
Currently, DGHL is in negotiations with multiple bidders /investors on the Share Purchase Agreement.
Substantial diligence has been completed.
Targeting closure of the transaction in near future

Pipeline of properties to open in calendar year 14 are Tokyo, Japan; Lijiang, China and Dibben, Jordon.

Business performance also improved substantially with operational EBITDA [of amanresorts] for the current calendar year being targeted at USD 20 mn vs USD 16 mn in 2012
debt/interest is the problem

http://www.dlf.in/dlf/wcm/connect/4d...8-3e6f9de92426
reinitiated the process with other potential bidders/investors also. Given the current stage of dialogue with various bidders/investors, management expects the transaction to be consummated in the near future.

background, court status (GHM just looking for settlement payment? or just doing PR?) is it the first dispute outside US, was there a change in ownership of property or the company that owns the property, is there going to be media coverage

there was MO chiang mai discussion here that was not in the media, with such discussion being frequent here

Here you go Kage:

Given the group doing the rebranding I doubt GHM will actually go ahead with a legal dispute- however who knows?

As quoted in Muscat Daily, Francesca von Etzdorf, media manager, Amanresorts, didn’t deny Amanresorts’ foray into Oman. She said, “While we do have many projects in the planning stages around the world, we do not, at this time, have any information available for public release."
quote from http://www.muscatdaily.com/Archive/O...-in-Oman-2pf1/

Renimah al Mattar, executive vice president, URC, said: “...one of the hotel components that we’ve just announced will be operated by Amanresorts”
