Sorry for the belated response... Could not update the photos until now..
Here are the photos of the hot airballooning at Amangari.
Essentially the ballooning takes place near the resort..and starts at 0600h.. It lasts about 30-45 minutes, highly dependent on the wind... and the view is spectacular..
It costs about $800.. for up to 4 passengers.. Our trip was private.. not sure if they had group rates.
Make sure u ask a staff at the resort to take a picture from the ground!

Boat tour of Powell Lake
I would highly recommend folks who come to this part of the US to take a boat tour of Powell Lake.. It is just stunning..
We did a half day boat tour of the lake arranged by Amangiri.. and wished we did a full day..
It's really a shame not to take in the beauty of the lake. The water was perfect 72 degrees for swimming
Pics below

Thinking about trying this place in February (maybe around Valentine's Day?). Any thoughts on level of occupancy at this time of the year?
I am extremely noise sensitive, and always communicate ahead with GMs to ensure I am in a quietly/privately located area. This place looks perfect as a "get away from it all", but having read through the reviews, I am a touch hesitant to book based on concerns it could be a bit noisy.
Thoughts?

I'd rather go in May or October. During my two visits, I never really had much of an issue with someone being out on their terrace at the same time as me, but it does ruin the illusion of privacy if it happens.

For me, this is the perfect time of year at Amangiri - blue skies, cold but bearable temperatures and tons of peace and quiet. I never had a problem with noise or children. The spa had plenty of slots and the chef had time to discuss menus. The landscape looks incredible in winter, too.
Thank you both for your thoughts. Ended up booking 4nts at the end of Feb/beginning of March. With 3 meals included, along with sundry other bits, it seemed too good a chance not to take it. Plus, the thought of cool days/colder nights, a fire, and (I'm hoping) sub-60% occupancy rate sounds perfect.

Reserve the BMW 750 Li. We took it out and drove all the way to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, marble canyon, Lee's ferry etc.. They didn't care that we had it out all day, versus the usual 4 hour time slot. Great scenic drive.
I loved my facial with Crystal. I tried to get a tour of the private villa, but it was booked.

Do the beautiful on-site trails that lead to the Glen-canyon-land area. Glencanyon trials are adjacent to Amangiri, you have to use the ladder to climb over the fence, endless exploring. I also enjoyed the via ferrata. On certain nights they have the telescope out with a guy that will point out the planets, etc.

It's just too bad the pools in the other rooms (including the Girijaala suite) are just so uninspiring (but they are well heated, which would be nice in the cooler weather).

I don't agree. The pool in the Amangiri Suite is spectacular (much nicer, I think than the one in the Girijaala Suite). It is really warm, especially when they light the log fire by the pool and set the outdoor tables with candles. I agree that the standard pools are a bit closed in by comparison, but I suspect they work better when it's very hot and you need a cool dip.

Of course, the cleaning issue goes more to service than to the pool itself. And service at this place was mediocre (especially at their price point and given that it is an Aman).
I know you will disagree - and that is the beauty of Flyertalk: multiple opinions on just about everything.
