Spent 5 hours, 6 minutes on hold tring to get through to United Club reps before i lost the connection. Called 1K line to see if they could help. Got through in 45 seconds only to be told to call the UC line I'd just called.

It's never acceptable for the world's largest airline to not field calls fromit's Customers. Now,if they'll focus on making United the best airline in the world. Biggest doesn't mean best.

@OP

You most likely didnt get through because the idiot above was trying an "experiment" and further muddling the lines.

I just realize I have wasted around 300 minutes of my cell phone plan while being placed on hold over the last couple of days. It would have been fine with it but I have not been able to get through.

Intolerable wait times

I've now been on hold for almost an hour.
The new website is almost incomprehensible
I'm a lawyer and I can't figure out which rules have changed and am desperately trying to find out what happens if I make a reservation......
It seems that they simply do not answer the phone anymore.
Being Premier executive has been devalued in more ways than one.....

Just gave up after TWO HOURS on hold.

I just hung up on UA reservations after being placed on hold for two hours. Not "it seemed like two hours"........ literally TWO HOURS on hold by the call timer on my cell phone and still my call was unanswered. I never was able to fix my reservation. I set 2 hours as the limit of my patience, hung up on UA, called my credit card company and disputed the $537.89 UA charge on my credit card as undelivered goods and called AA and rebooked. Damn the miles. MONUMENTAL FAIL!!! of the highest order.

I DARE UA to fight my credit card dispute. I'm riled, itching for a fight.

Good for you! Please keep us updated. Love for you to win! I got so sick of yet and gave up. I was trying to help my parents to change their flights, and the website displayed a hugh price increase plus 250 penalty each. Not worth it!

Funny Experience with Extended Wait Times

My flight tonight to Newark was delayed by 1.5 hours due to a late arriving inbound aircraft. I called the elite desk hoping to change to the first flight tomorrow morning and was on hold for about 30 minutes. Frustrated, I got into the car and drove over to FLL while remaining on hold. I walked up to the counter (which was empty) and came across the single agent at the counter. I explained to her that I was on hold for the elite desk, and she told me that they as agents haven't even been able to get through when they call. Long story short, she booked me directly into first class on the morning flight (I was upgraded on tonight's flight but the morning flight was full in coach but open in first class with no one standing by). Heading to FLL (which is 30 minutes from my home) was faster than waiting for the elite desk...how special I feel to be "Premier!"
