So the first 25k miles will be in the back, then I can use the stickers, right? How long will it take for those to hit the account once I cross 25k EQM? And can I use them on an existing reservation, since I'm trying to get everything done in Jan.
The main difference between long haul flying and domestic MRs is that you don't get good sleep. It's always broken up.

You first need to get status before getting stickies.

So, fly 25k miles and you are gold, then fly 10k miles & you will get 4 stickies. I think it will be tough to get upgrades with stickies on this route.

So they clear after EXP upgrades?

We should try to set up some sort of meet-up of special (or is that insane) people.

We're bound to be on the same flights/in the same clubs/wandering around the same airports in a zombie-like state after too many red-eyes.

That's what I was thinking. Would this be an appropriate separate thread?

Maybe schedule a night out in Fort Lauderdale one weekend, since that seems to be one of the better deals?

To clarify while the 25k miles is EQM (2x or 3x BIS), the 10k miles with status is actual BIS flying, though you do get credit for the flight that makes you elite. This means that kpowed will probably make Platinum before any stickers post. They can however be bought for $30 each, if an upgrade clears.

Upgrades clear EXP then Plat then Gold with priority given to full fare passengers. Companions of an elite will clear with their travel partner.

I'd be up for it, however I can't find a weekend with SFO-ORD-FLL-ORD-SFO for ~$300.

So far, I'm booked for 9 SFO-ORD-SFO quick turns.

I noticed a few of you are doing routes through ORD. I guess many of you have forgotten that it's winter. Just saying for those of you who are stacking MRs...

Happy Travels!

Indeed, I'm quite happy that all of my MRs avoid ORD. Unfortunately, my vacation flight (the one I actually don't want to miss!) goes through ORD in the middle of January. Hopefully it's a warm January in Chicago .

FlightConnect is the appropriate venue to post flights and arrange meetups privately: http://www.flyertalk.com/flightconnect/

well I just found out that i will actually need to start and end my trip in uruguay, so i would really benefit from just doing NY to Montevideo via MIA in american business

now i just found out about this promotion so i am really pissed...is there any chance they will include a LAN flight in this promotion???
Can't you just CANCEL and GET a REFUND for Business Class on LAN ? Then rebook on AA....

You don't see flightconnect getting severely clogged with the sheer numbers of folks that will be MRing next month? I think a meet up thread would be fun - but that's just me and I don't make the rules. Last DEQM, I met up to 10 FTers on the plane just by off chance. This is a pretty extenuating circumstance.

Determine Same Aircraft for Return MR

How would I go about determining if the same aircraft is used for a return segment? I'm flying ORD->SFO->ORD and while the turn-around is close, I imagine that the plane coming back (departs 1 hr after mine arrives) is probably the same plane...

Specifics:
Flight 1341 ORD -> SFO
- Depart 6:50 AM
- Arrive 9:25 AM
Flight 556 SFO -> ORD
- Depart 10:35 AM
- Arrive 4:55 PM

Some points here.

My main concern is can a snow storm put hitting EXP at risk due to rescheduled flights? Or so long as I have the flights booked means that I'm flying that route (at a potentially very delayed time). i
And would AA put up passengers in hotels due to weather, or would that be out of my pocket?

Thanks!
If there is a weather delay, the airlines IS NOT responsible to accommodate you. This is on you. Plan accordingly. As for the tight connections, it will cause a ripple effect. I myself do not know if the inbound plane will be the same as the outbound, others might chime in on this. Just plan accordingly. Keep in mind that in case of weather disruption, the only hotel at ORD is the Hilton, they have plenty of rooms, but if you decide to stay, act quickly as others will be doing the same.
