Lol really? Not to be mean, but was this a serious question? Not that I consider these images nude, but just to ease your mind, TSOs rotate through different positions. You don't even get close to spending an entire day on any one position.

Besides that.... It's same gender...

Please show us where TSA has officially stated (ie, not a post here on Flyertalk by a TSA person saying "I think" or a post at PV by some anonymous saying "I assume") that the person manning the nude-o-scope machine is the same gender as the passenger. Seriously, if you have evidence, it would be good to see.

How would they do this logistically? Either have separate lines and 'scopes for men and women, or have a male and female screener working each viewing room and swapping in and out? I don't think so.

"The BAA employee took a photo of his co-worker,. . . when she inadvertently went through a scanner."

Don't the sheeple have to stand still for several seconds at least to allow for a good image? Then it seems a scan of someone just walking through would be poor quality or worse. If the victim stood still for a picture, she was aware of what she was doing and why.

Let me see if I understand. A terrible decision by TSA management to waste tax money on unnecessary new uniforms and tin badges results in less screening of TSOs and thus less security for the flying public. OK, I feel so much less safe now.

Random, eh?

That's interesting. I wonder if the TSA could save some cash by having the images viewed in India or Cambodia.

That'll be next. I wonder if any air passengers would prefer that. I don't think it would be India because modest is pretty important there.

I too would like an answer to that one. As far as I was aware there was no separation of genders so a woman could be seen by a male screener if one is sitting in the hot seat.

Fantastic, hitting CNN.

I had tried posting this topic on the USA Today Travel Forum (lame site/participants) and it disappeared.

yes, ^ for some mainstream media coverage bit imho, just one problem....

An employee at London's Heathrow Airport has been given a police warning after allegedly making a lewd remark about a female colleague as she stood in a full body scanner by mistake.
...
We treat any allegations of inappropriate behavior or misuse of security equipment very seriously and these claims are investigated thoroughly," she told PA.
bad screener, bad screener, bad bad bad. now take your slap on the wrist and get back to work

From viewing this video:

Doesn't seem to be like you have to stand still except when they're zooming in. Of course, in the video she "skips" zooming into the dude's privates (which are clearly visible otherwise, dangling...lol...) ... whether you trust all screeners would do that well, obviously, none of us would believe that!

Watching that video gave me the willies. I'm not going through that thing.

The best part of the article:

Barrister Alex Deane, director of Big Brother Watch, told the Sun: "When privacy-invading machines are installed at our airports, abuses like this are inevitable. We are disturbed to hear of this case, which will lead to greater calls for these scanners to be banned.

That'll never happen here though..

Know what would be absolutely fabulous? If they start phasing them into airports and suddenly there's no BUSINESS there. We need the airports and the airlines to get hysterical and demand the withdrawal of the machines.

But are air passengers able to summon that much will? Big question mark.

I have refused to patronize BAA airports in the UK or even visit the UK since the scumbags at DfT made these things mandatory.

In the US, if I am presented with the false choice of WBI or being groped, I will take the groping and follow up with a formal complaint, name(s) of the selector and groper included.

If the images produced by WBI "Strip Search Machines" are so tame as TSA has declared why won't TSA produce for the public images in the size and resolution that WBI machines see? What is TSA afraid of?

Why are TSA employees only screened randomly? Doesn't anyone entering the secure area of an airport present some unknown degree of risk?

With TSA's hiring standards and legal issues of some employees wouldn't the safer avenue suggest screening everyone as the prudent course of action?

While I am at it, since you have claimed that the BDO program is effective how about some verifiable stats proving that point?
