Not a design fault really more of a cheapskateness (if such a word exists), I've noticed landside some of the lift columns from Arrivals to Departures only have one lift installed and you can clearly see space for another lift beside it.

That should not be the case and if it is the staff there are not doing their checks correctly. The main lobby of the lounges is as much a part of the lounges as a hotel lobby is a part of a hotel.

Failing that, does anyone know how much higher the upper deck on an A380 is than the main deck on a 747? That's going to be quite a climb in the rain!

There is absolutely nothing that will stop anyone taking the escalator up to GF/CCR level. And while there, use the wifi and showers.

My suggestion would be that BA has one person "screening" pax before the escalator. Just checking eligibility.

I believe the term is excessive value engineering Same goes for the number of escalators in the departure hall. These really should have been doubled up in each direction. A classic case of capital cost risk transfer to facilities management risk

Many times, the only men I have ever seen peeing peeing in Asia were drunk British tourists/'businessmen' who didn't know the difference between a street and a toilet. Was that you on one of your many Hong Kong trips?

There is a host at the top of the escalators. Trust me if someone is in the lobby that should not be they are asked nicely to leave (I promise you I have first hand experience of that delightful conversation), and the showers are controlled by the house keeping team and they are required to make checks before issuing shower suites to customers. If we put someone at the bottom as well as the one at the top and the staff on the desks I think customers may just feel a bit like they are trying to get into the bank of England!! We get more complaints around people feeling over processed than we do about people feeling that there are others in the lounge or lounge areas who should not be.

There are currently some dual airbridges at T5B, there will be triple airbridges at T5C.

Lifts are a bit odd in T5. Little tip, if arriving on public transport (if ever) take the car park lifts, lots of space, and sometimes faster as there are 4 to pick from.

I have never yet seen 2 jet-bridges on an aircraft even if the gate has 2 available. Id love to know the reasoning behind it as it would make boarding a lot faster I think and give you the frequent flyer with high status, or traveling in J/F an even better boarding experience.

Biggest design fault is the six mile hike to the F check in and then the hike from there to the security point. Way quicker to use a regular check in desk, albeit less fun.

Wow, it must be all of 100 yards from F class check in to security.
