Because of the charm of these indonesian classic aman, I think by the end of your trip you may even feel maybe your 2 week trip is too short. Chances are that among these 5 there will be one or two aman that you just love and can't have enough. I added 3 nights on top of my 4 nights stay in amankila and on another trip I wished I did not have to leave the totally isolated amanwana. Luckily Aman has always been very accommodating in terms of guest's travel plan. So maybe you can do an initial plan but change the length of stay in each aman as you experience it in person. My 2 cents.

I notice a lot of people doing 2 or more Amans in a trip. Does the Aman chain do any offers or discounts for multi-resort stays? i.e. any incentive?

Yes, in a way - they have 'packages' such as the combination of 3 Bali properties over 6 nights. Details are listed on their website. They can be pretty good value (of course this is relative to their usual steeeeeep prices...!).

Blimey, whats that package called; the "Hassle and Stress" package? Couldnt think of anything worse than spending half the holiday packing/unpacking/travelling.

Thanks for the info anyway. I'm being a bit dumb at moment, but cant find the packages you refer to. Which drop-down options on amanresorts.com do you choose to get to packages?

Amanbali Experience

[QUOTE=kryten22uk;11199390]Blimey, whats that package called; the "Hassle and Stress" package?

No its really easy, no hassle at all. Leave your things are the hangers and they pack up your cloths that are in the drawers, and anything you leave on the counters and it appears in the next hotel just as you had it. Its a great way experience all three hotels and the island (you can do this with Amanjiwo and Amanwana) you only check in once and check out at the end with all your bills waiting for you to look over at the end. Its the best!

article on DLF's financial situation
http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/...0351500100.htm

Giving an update on its hotel venture, DLF, in its presentation said under prevalent market conditions “all projects stand suspended till project finance is arranged for select projects”. However, it said the Hilton joint venture continues on firm footing. “The first hotel under the alliance, the Hilton Garden Inn Saket, Delhi, which is delayed due to certain regulatory approvals, is now expected to open in the first quarter of FY10. Also, DLF Hotels is a strategic investor in Aman Resorts Group. The Aman Lodhi property in New Delhi is expected to open in the first quarter of FY10,” it added.

I have walked around this pool - there is no way that it looks like this! It is very long and elegant and the surroundings are not grey!!

Actually, it's quite good! We always pack light when in Bali anyway, and you really get to see more of what's on offer on the island since each resort is in a very different part of Bali. The activities that are inclusive with the package are also different at each resort, so it's a fantastic experience. We still reminisce about riding bicycles through the hills of Ubud or having a breakfast picnic in a private bale in the hills of Manggis overlooking the Lombok Strait...just wonderful! ^

Two quick questions:

(i) do you know when Amantaka is actually going to open? (am I hopeless with April, this year?)

(ii) what is the weather like in late April in Amanpulo? Is there any risk of spending the whole time playing cards while it rains?

Forgive me if these answers may be already in this forum.

It was meant to be March for Amantaka, but it looks like it could be later, as usual. April could be cutting it tight.

April at Amanpulo gets around 2 inches of rain a month, so nowhere near the highest rainfall (June to September is the highest on Pamalican Island, with up to 12 inches in August). It should be fine.
