I agree, especially for the cat4 awards that have a 6 month expiry.

I used to use it at HR Monterey which went away in 2022, then Andaz SD which went away in 2023, now Manchester SD will be gone.

1k for breakfast is terrible, Im glad u were able to get 2k. Food around Waikiki isnt cheap, its more understandable if it was in Southeast Asia where breakfast can be had for a few dollars
