EBP; the ultimate level!!

As I've posted before SAS does have a membership level above Gold.
It is called Pantheon and requires 300.000 basic point a year for three consecutive years (at least in principle).
The membership level is targeted in such a way that there is never more than 1000 members at any time at this level and I believe that your activities are closely monitored. As for the perks: I am not sure, but they probably set a new standard.
If there are any of our FT colleagues that does possess this card, please fill us (as in mortals) in!

Are you sure that it's called Pantheon? It could be called Pandion... or that's what it is on the Hertz website where you can get all the CDP numbers.

Well, I've exceeded 200,000 points this year and that's not enoungh for anything special.

I'd like to know too what happens for the Pandion/Pantheon members!

Ooops!

The information was given to me over the phone by a senior Eurobonus official and obviously I've made a spelling blunder, mea culpae!
I've tried editing the original post, but am not able to change the headline!!

Its true that it is never more then 1000 pandions at time. If you have 200.000 basic points with TG or another Star parnter you will NOT became a pandion. You will became a pandion when you have alot alot of basic points with SAS. Like Pandion is a club for the 1000 most frequent SAS travellers.

All -

I had my friendly neighborhood TA email me the material they had on EBP - Pandion (which is a bit outdated - 1997) but she hadn't heard of any changes.

The amenities (at that time) included:

- Guaranteed seat (but not class) when booked 24 hours in advance
- Highest priority on waitlist
- Extra baggage
- Family ticket for Pandion (I have no idea what that means)
- Radisson SAS Hotels guarantee
- Avis Preferred Select
- Hertz discount

My guess is there's more, but that's all the info she had.

Godspeed trying to get one Viking/Austman!

Sounds pretty much like Ex Plat on AA or 1K on UA or Senator on LH to me. I sure hope SAS can come up with something better...

I don't know about AA EP, but I know that 1K doesn't guarantee me a seat on UA - that's a fairly nice perk that for some reason the US carriers can't figure out how to do.

greg:
The perks offered do seem more or less like the ones offered to EBG members except for the "Family tickets".
Over the weekend I'll try to get a hold of my acquaintance within SAS and if possible come up with further info.

Every EBP gets a personal invetation when they reach the amount of points that is necessary that year. A Mont Blanc pen use to come along with the letter. Since I am on a holiday right now I dont have the info to tell you exactly what other perks a EBP has.

The best and cheapest way to earn EBP status is to buy a SAS Unlimited Travelpass and then just book a bunch of flights and fly alot. Like 4 RT from ARN to MMX will get you 9600points a day. Normally it takes around 200.000pts to get a EBP.

Guaranted seats for EuroBonus EBG on SAS:

You are guaranteed a seat on SAS flights (but not guaranteed class) if you book a full-fare Business Class ticket at least 48 hours before departure. On flights between Stockholm and Gothenburg, Stockholm and Malm, and within Norway, you are guaranteed a seat if you book at least 24 hours before departure.

I've used it a few times and it DOES work. Even with direct internet booking. An EBG status is recognised and allows you to book on over-booked flights.

EBP:

My EuroBonus year end in 4 days. Currently my status is:
Membership Level Status
JUL 1999 - JUN 2000
Basic Points: 207,500
SAS Qualifying Flights: 13

I've one or two flights to go before June 30 and I'm at Dusseldof Radisson SAS now. I think I'll end up with around 212,000 basic points. Probably not enough for EBP especially as a lot of my basic points were earned flying other *A airlines.
