Oh thanks! I wasn't aware of this benefit and have never seen it listed on the SK website tbh... But that's great! Learned something new today!

I suspected it was a sale, but I didn't see it being promoted anywhere.
I did actually reserve two seats when the prices were as low as 91.- for Plus, SK 1605, 12th Sep.

I'm just curious why the prices seem to jump around all over the place during the day (I've seen 175.- for P, 145.- for B, 127.- for A and 91.- for A all for the same flight (SK1605) in the last few hours in no order whatsoever). But I don't really mind, I mean I got my tickets when the prices were lowest

Could very well be that this is normal and I just never noticed.
Hasn't it always (at least as far as I can remember...) been that EBS get +1 bag and EBG/EBD get +2 bags on SK/WF flights? Non-EB *S gets nada, that's why your companion gets 2 bags in total.

Come on, if they were to be any changes in the rules of EB nowadays, they would most likely remove or "enhance" existing benefits, not add new ones...

It was not always two bags for EBG. I can't remember exactly when it changed, but I can say for sure in January 2012 it was only 1 extra bag for EBG as well as for *G

Yes, it could very well have been so, but I don't think I ever wondered about this. Back then at least one free bag would be included even in the cheapest fares, and I seldom fly with a second checked bag, let alone a third one...

The reason I can place Jan 2012 is that I moved an needed to check four pieces, way below weight limit of 3*32, but above the count. (J long haul 2*32 and EBG 1*32 was my limit) I have never since checked more than 2 pieces.

I've only tried AI once. On the outbound leg the service was kind of void. They were friendly and if you asked for something they would bring it, but the serving of food was like the just handed you the tray and were off to the next. This with 33% empty seats. On the inbound leg I was upgraded to bizz by the client as a thank for saving their .... The service here was much better but more than 50% of the seats were empty. My biggest "complaints" was the state of the bird. It was a 3 and 5 year old dreamliner and the cabine was almost as rundown as LN-RKP. On top of that they had to fly around Pakistan which of course meant delays which I only learned when I arrived at the airport, both on the outbound and inbound leg. On the outbound leg, it wasn't even announced on check-my-trip until 2 hours before scheduled departure, despite the plane at that point in time still were 4 hours away from CPH. In total the flight changed departure time 3 times before we finally left CPH.
Mr.'s employer uses FCM - they are incompetent at best. I think I can takeover their job. They don't try to save $ for their clients and book flights that makes people having to squat in an airport for 12 hours. Mr. has reported to his boss telling her that AI is an option.

I tried AI once (HKG-KIX), yes the bird was really worn out and service was meh but the schedule was top notch, fly out early and return after noon. I know their flights are worn but I have seen worse (we went to Malta with Danskfolkferie 10 years ago and that plane was......)

Most travel providers in Europe use 1A, so it doesn't show. Some have Sabre or Travelport instead so AI still shows there. More here: Air India stops distributing via Amadeus

The pak airspace closure is a pain too. We got caught in it a few days after it was announced. The irreg handling of AI was surprisingly good. AI business to me is on par with the other third tier *A airlines. If it costs 1800-2000€ return you can live with it.
The link doesn't work. I guess the air space issue should be solved by now?

Not keen on repeating that experience. But survivable for such a short flight.

But I also heard quite good things about AI from some of my colleagues. So, perhaps like SK consistent inconsistent?
I think it's really depend on your expectation, you can't compare AI with LX , LH even TK. For Mr., he sleeps on board and what happens around him doesn't matter, he barely touches any plane food unless he thinks it looks interesting (when he is not sleeping). He told me that he received very good service - not QR level but certainly better than SK. The food is not exactly his taste as he only eats plane food on TK. Also flying makes people dirty anyway, he feels dirty even before boarding from walking through security and sitting on a plane made him sweats too, so I don't think anything will bother him unless there's a rat biting him when he is sleeping

The business class amenity bag was amazing though - everything is in real size, i.e. 30ml and I think it's better than LH/UA/AA and TK.

Air space continues to be blocked. Big problem to Delhi and all of South east Asia.

CWT doesn't do anything to try to save $ for their clients either. They only follow the policy set by the client. I recently had to ask CWT to change a credit card on a hotel booking. Instead of calling the hotel they canceled the booking and booked a new room which was 25% more expensive.

I would most likely use AI on my next India trip too. Their schedule is quite good and just as I don't mind flying LN-RKP, I don't mind flying the run down AI dreamliners, My comment was more related to how fast a cabin can become run down if it isn't maintained. I have been on other longhaul flights with run down cabins, but never on birds which are less than 5 years old. It has always been on birds which was at least 10 years old or close to a D check with cabin refurbishment

Unfortunately not https://www.flightradar24.com/data/f...ai158#2121194f but the flight schedule has been adjusted so there are no more delays.
I wonder what they will do if the airspace over Iran is closed too.

Then they will say hi more to the FSU and China.

So far BA is flying south of Iran airspace over the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman following the FAA advisory to avoid Iranian airspace.

Seems LH and some others don't care and keep flying over Iranian airspace for now.

Reading your link, "don't care" is the wrong term.

[...] both Lufthansa and KLM are keenly avoiding the Strait.
So they avoid where the tension is. In addition LH flies to IKA. I would say it is impossible to fly to IKA without entering Iranian airspace.

True, no way to get to IKA any other way... And as German I'm allowed to say, our government seems to think the Mullahs are a real nice bunch anyways and kiss up to them whenever there is a chance, which involves flying a lot of engineering, bankers and government officials over there all the time to help them out. So, I guess the risk for LH is minimal. Iran would cut of their own lifeblood in form of Germoney coming in by that. I leave it at that trying to tip-toe around OMNI

I am with you - I also clearly remember 1 extra for gold. Don't know when it stopped though. I do have a clear memory of flying 2016. Family in Plus (got a 5 pax CU to J on the home route) CPH-IAD-CPH. October or November. I was EBD, wife and son EBG, and daughters (2) with no status. We had a total baggage allowance of 16 pieces. Would have had to rent a truck to get home if we had used it... :-)

Exactly, where's the common sense of these people? Then your boss will have to approve an expense that's 25% more than the original cost.

Their schedule is certainly much better than LH/AF to BLR - I just don't get it why they have to arrive at BLR 1 or 3 am in the morning (my guess they need to ship people from the hubs in CDG/FRA from their US flights). It doesn't make sense to spend a whole day on the plane and then arrive at odd times and have very little rest before working. On the way back to Europe is crazy too - I think departing BLR was like either 1 or 3am - what would Mr. do during those time? He can't work and he will have to book the hotel for an extra day, unless he "hangs" around at his office until 20:00 and then "hang" at the airport.

I used to fly AF many years ago and at HKG the ground staff said their cabin wear and tear was insane too. I think fast wear and tear is more common in Asia than Europe, went to a newly opened Westin in Malaysia and you can already wear and tear in the room.

It's a shame we don't get more miles by filing detour.

I seriously doubt that - China and India are not friends, maybe FSU.
