Ok, now my wife is getting involved...so you better both watch out.

She is asking why LH would not open up award space for SK. Her question stems from the fact that LH was able to open up award space on SK this past X-mas on our return from MAA. I assume that this was due to the VDB, although the rules should have forced LH to stick to LH coded flights.

Granted the situation is different, but perhaps the question is when would LH consider opening up award space for SK?

OK, maybe award space is open on the flights you would take, I have no knowledge of where exactly you are flying, maybe LH has kept space open even though NRW, the most populous state in Germany, just commenced summer vacations today: http://www.schulferien.org/Schulferi...2013_Juni.html

In (my) reality LH or SK never open up space for each other. <- thats a period.

livious, you could certainly rebook...!
Sounds sort of like flying PanAm in the 1980s, and I don't mean that in an sort of good way.

Well, LH seems to have inventory open even now, although I suppose its to entice airport upgrades:

Had my two daugthers along (8 & 11) - not a big problem. Bring iPads and books though.

Saw 2 Omni birds at CPH this morning at the remote parking area.
Whether they are related to SK901/902 I do not know.

Even though not entirely reliable, a good way to check this kind of things is Flight radar:

http://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/sk902

This page will give you an insight on which equipment is operating this route. Unfortunately the use of the A343 on this route seems very random.

I know it is not good style to quote one self, but the Omni birds at CPH are hired by Novo to fly in attendees from NA to a conference in Copenhagen
http://www.check-in.dk/newselement.c...rticleID=80396

So three Omni birds at CPH these days : 1 for SK and 2 for Novo

Much more delayed

The A340, now with registration LN-RKP, should have arrived in Copenhagen on October 14., but will not be ready to fly for SAS until late February according to check-in.dk. The plane is still in Santiago de Chile. Problem: Airbus and LAN Chile cannot agree on the conditions of the aircraft. What a mess.

So will the Omni Air birds be operating for SK in November as well? I have a IAD-CPH and CPH-ORD flight in November. Does anyone know which routes, if any, will be stuck with Omni Air?

I'm likely to skip doing an OptionTown bid if that's the case.

I have no personal knowledge, but same travel-site writes:

"SAS will in winter timetable not use Omni Air regularly, but try to get things to stick together with its own fleet of long-haul aircraft."

Which should mean, your risk of the 767 is slim. But not zero. IAD used to be the prime Omni-route.

They should be fine without any extra capacity during the winter timetable but if the "new" A340 haven't appeared in late march there will be trouble with the summer schedule...

I don't think so... the lighter winter timetable is used to send aircraft into maintenance for needed routine checks. If they made the W13-14 plan using the 'new' 343 then they are in trouble...

BTW, the OMNI aircraft is firmly scheduled for IAD this month:

Code:
27SEP13
SAS will operate SK925 and SK 926 with leased aircraft during 13OCT13-26OCT13 and 01NOV13
Omni Air International will operate SK925 CPH-WAS and SK926 WAS-CPH with a Boeing 767. Flight will operate with Omni Air International crew.

The cabin configuration differs from SAS and holds two classes only, business and economy.
Differences in service onboard OMNI Flights:

Purchase of duty free items onboard will not be possible.
    No buffet in Galley
Chair in business class can lean 140 degrees (SAS flatbeds 170 degrees)
Movie on big screens. No IFE system
    No economy extra cabin

Passenger originally booked in SAS Plus will be upgraded to Business class if available. Passenger facing downgrading will be compensated at airport.
Rebooking

Passengers holding reservations on SK wet leased operated flights, issued on SK/117 documents, may involuntary rebook to other SK operated flights and dates within ticket validity. Rebooking shall be made in the same booking class or in lowest available booking class in the same service class as originally booked.

Tickets must be marked with: FE INVOL DUE WETLEASE
